What is wrong and how would i replace the speakers. I really don't want to get a new tv because this ones been in the family for a while, Its a Magnavox Solid State Videomatic 25" Color/Black&White Console Tv from either the late 60s or early 70s with VHF and UHF knobs and is NOT remote controlled

This set is likely due for a digital upgrade. Feb. 8, 2009 is the last date tha any analog broadcast transmission. some kind of receiver [digital conversion , cable or satelite box] will be required. some sets can take analog cable & then be OK.

I'm not sure that it is the speakers that have gone bad.

Possible workaround: any audio out jacks on this set?

Sharp 20v-w70m speaker and IC ok but no sound

Check the input voltage to IC. If it is absent, the IC won't work. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

The sound went out on My 3 year old 40 inch sharp aqous

have you been check the speaker if worn out. if ok you can hooked up a powered pc speaker at the audio output jack of the tv . now if you can get sound there the cause it could be bad amplifier circuit. but if you can not get sound there the cause would be bad sound processor in the main board.

Tv went black no sound either. TV only five years old,is there anything i can do? Thanks James

Cannot offer solution but my mine has also gone bad.  At first a black shadow appeared on the left side of the screen.  Took it to the authorized service center.  they kept it a few days, said nothing could be done.  Used it anyway for the next 5 years when suddenly it went black (or sometimes blue) after working perfectly for the first 5 minutes. A sharp rap next to the right speaker fixed it a few times, but no more.  Good luck.

I have had a Sharp AQUOS LC-46PD7X for over three years and just a couple of days ago I started getting a problem where I turn the TV on and it either displays a digital channel for a couple of minutes and...

Hi ibrahl,

I too have the same model and vintage and have been experiencing low signal problems for quiet some time now. It only became apparent when we hooked up the ps3 playTV unit and the digital channels we were having problems with on the Aquos was broadcasting fine. Both devices use the same antenna connection so its not an aerial issue.
I tried reset back to factory settings and reloaded the channels via auto but now those digital channels I had problems no longer appear on our channel list so they're gone for now. I was wondering the same thing about firmware updates but havent found anything on the Sharp website. Found this video but this model uses USB for updates">

One thing we need to know is how is it connected and to what is it connected. If you are using HDMI from another source or what? This could be also be an issue with the sound board and chip.

No Picture with sound

sounds like you have a bad panel. This ussually happens when a backlight lamp has gone bad and the inverter board senses this and sends a signal to turn the backlight off.
