Can I replace an ordinary light bulb in my Janome machines with a LED bulb?

Certainly, you can use LED bulbs assuming you can find the right one for your machine. I found some on eBay for my Berninas and the light is great!!! So much brighter than the old yellow bulbs.

Hi,

First step is to unplug the 120 vac power for a few minutes to clear any corrupted data that may be present in the controller circuits.

If a "power" reset doesn't help and the lamp or bulb is installed correctly, you most likely have a failed replacement bulb. The symptoms are all standard indications of a failed bulb.

Reduced lamp life can be caused by:
  1. Lightning and other 120 vac power bumps.
  2. Collisions with vacuum cleaners or other incidental impacts while the TV bulb is operating.
  3. Starting the TV without a complete cool down. Bulb will consume a small amount of mercury with each start. Excessive consumption occurs when bulb is "Hot" and turned on.
  4. Wrong bulb installed as replacement.(Philips original replaced with Osram or El Cheapo)
  5. Poor quality or damaged bulb installed as replacement.
  6. Bulb damaged during replacement
  7. Bulb installed incorrectly at replacement.
Almost all Hitachi 55vs69 "No Picture" failures are related to the bulb.

Many of our service events are with customers that purchased El Cheapo bulbs from "shopping cart" websites or picked up a bulb from a small "local" TV shop. Many small shops stock of 3 or 4 bulbs and try to substitute or cross reference to fit more than 200 models of TVs from 7 different manufacturers. If a premature bulb failure occurs, they have the opportunity to sell you some expensive service.

That is going to be a failure of the light engine itself. The part number for that is UX25302R. The part is not a user replaceable part due to the complexity to remove and reinstall the new one. Here is a link for the part and to purchase it as it runs 521 dollars. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thanks...

Hitachi

You need a new light engine, its possible that you might get one for free from Hitachi (under a special warr.) you will have to pay the repair shop to install it and it doesnt come with a new bulb contact Hitachi and ask about the "engine program" good luck Julio at Millenium tv (702) 736-1091 [email protected]

Low beam on either side last only a few months before needing replacement

I had the same problem with my 2005 CR-V starting about a year after I had the car (I guess the factory lights died), I started having to replace the bulbs every month or so. Very annoying. Never had both die at the same time, but often had one go out within days of replacing the other. It seemed to happen right at the start-up (I face a wall when I park, and could actually see the light "pop"). And Honda doesn't make it easy to replace these bulbs. About four months ago, I replaced both lowbeams, but I was particularly careful to (1) not touch the bulb with my fingers or against any of the engine compartment components. I was also very careful to reseat the rubber seal so that it was right side up (see the manual). Since then, I have not had the problem. I suspect that moisture was getting inside the seal and causing the bulb to pop (I had some bulbs completely blow out) or overheat. This probably goes back to my initial faulty replacement step where I didn't pay attention to making sure the rubber seal was right side up. All this being said, I suspect I'll start my car tomorrow and all the head lights will go out. And by the way, the high beams are the original bulbs. Go figure.

Blue Haze in middle of screen vertical

There is no solution with Hitachi products.

If you have read many of the posts, you would have known not to buy Hitachi Telivisions or like me avoid all Hitachi products. There help line is not very useful, they just blow you off. I have never had a worse experience with other manufacturers. Take Onkyo for instance, they had a problem with a chip in their THX receiver and it was a year later ... I called their help line they located a repair store about 40 miles from where I live (in Texas that is not very long) and got my receiver fixed and this was 8 years ago.

Also use Consumer Reports to check the frequency of repair record for the product you are going to buy. In Plasma - Panasonic is a safe brand, in LCD's Sony or Samsung have good repair records.

Research the product before you buy it, avoid walking into a store have the salesperson direct you to a product. And then you save money if you order it online. Amazon online is very good.
