Clearly, you have a blown seal or gasket where the glass meets the perimeter of where it sits. This sounds like it is a manufacturer defect. If it "happened within 90 days of purchase," then, perhaps you were out of town and could not report it to the supplier or factory within 90 days to be covered under factory warranty -- wink wink -- I suggest that you be very sweet and in your best little girls voice ask retailer to kindly replace the stove. Otherwise, if purchase was via a credit card, you may have recourse there - ask your financial institution or go to the holder (ie visa, mc, discover also insure purchase - with limitation - see their policy) and set out that way as other methods of recourse may be available.

Best regards

Can visionware go in oven

The short answer is YES!

In the 1990's Corning produced a series of Visions cookware, brown amber and cranberry colored glass-ceramic dishes and casseroles, that had the same basic properties of its white Pyroceram cookware. Visions cookware could go directly from freezer to hot oven to stove-top to the microwave oven to table to fridge to the broiler to the dishwasher, etc. Extreme temperature changes did not affect the very durable cookware, While many folks mistake Visions cookware for Pyrex bake-ware, they are not the same. Visions cookware was never issued in the forms (square pans, rectangle baking pans, loaf pans, pie pans, etc that clear glass Pyrex baking pans had been produced in for decades. In any case, Visions glass-ceramic cookware could go direct from the freezer to the hot oven - there would be NO DAMAGE to the cookware in such a practice. Visions glass-ceramic cookware also has markings to indicate usage. The majority of Visions cookware were of the "stove pot" design - stove top was intended from the start. However it is practical to let the food defrost first, or adjust the cooking time in order to create a better thoroughly cooked dish.

Yes, Visions cookware can be used in the oven! One caveat is that the pot lids are Pyrex which means that the pot lids can not be placed under the broiler (who does that anyway?), or under direct heat, or while hot on wet surfaces. The pot lids were meant to be pot lids - just like other Pyrex glass pot lids on most cookware.

Yes, Visions cookware can be used in the oven!

Hi, We have MAYTAG schott ceran flexchoice glass cooking top. Even after cleaning it with a ceramic glass top cleaner, stains are remaining on it. Can u please suggest what is the best way to clean it .

Sudha3025 -
Sorry to hear you're having trouble getting your cooktop clean.
You mention you are using a glass-ceramic cleaner but I would also suggest scrapping the stains with a NEW metal razor scraper. A cooktop scraper is similar to one you would use to scrape paint off your windowpanes at home and you can typically find them at a hardware store. The razor won't damage the surface like other abrasive sponges might. For best results, hold the scraper at approximately a 30 degree angle to the cooktop and protect your hands by wearing an oven mitt.
Also try using a Wieman sponge in conjunction with the cleaner on those stubborn stains.
As always, try to clean up spills, especially sugary ones, immediately when they happen, or get them away from the hot burner area and clean after every use.
Hope this is helpful!

How do you clean moisture stains from between the door glass?

If they are stains, not too much can be done except for taking apart the glass and cleaning. If it's just moisture, you can shine an auto/shop trouble light (the old kind that get warm, not the new flourescent ones) on it to slowly heat it up and dry it out. Be careful not to get the door glass to warm or it may warp. Best is to just get it a bit warm and keep the light on it for several hours.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

You are not going to like this, and you did not give the model number of your unit. But glass replacement tops, will range from $600.00 to $800.00 just for the glass top. and their is not a way to make repairs, because it is a special glass.

A kettle of soup boiled over on my new Kenimore Elite Electric Range. Some of the liquid that fell down the front went into the vents at the top of the door and dripped down onto the inside of the glass...

This question was asked almost 2 years ago, but thought I'd respond anyway. On the bottom of your oven door there are slots. Pull out the drawer beneath the oven door so you can work under it. Find something that will fit through the slots, a yard stick worked for me, or maybe a wire coathanger. Attach a paper towel or cloth securely to it and put it though the slots to reach the soiled area. It will take some manuvering. I would not recommend taking the door apart. When I did some research on this some time ago, I read that it can be difficult or impossible to get it back together again.

How do I clean the inside glass on the door - GE Profile JVM1870

I have a Kenmore with similar issues.
Model 665.61639100
Anyway, good luck with this. Hope someone has an answer for you (and me).
Mine has a open slot on the top front of the door. Kinda like a double plate window execpt for the opening in front. Why is this there? I don't know. Weird design. But it leaves for the possibilty of liquid to splash in there leaving it hard to clean (like impossible).

I'm thinking I have to completely remove and disect the door.

How do you remove a microwave above the stove

Take the glass tray out and unplug it. Remove the 2 or three phillips screws in the top of the cabinet going into the micro. They should be towards the front. Hold up on it while removing screws. When all screws are out, let it tilt forward and lift it up off of the hooks. Some require help, so be carefull and put blankets on your stove to set it on when it first comes out.
