Refrigerator temp is not very cold, moving the indicator inside does nothing to change it. This frig has been making noises as of late, and now, it's not cold enough.

Maytag Refrigerator/freezer alarm will not turn off.

check that tha fan beside the compressor in lower back is running and that condenser tubing is lint free, also check for icing on frezer back panel if so you could have a defrost problem, if all is good you may have a freon leak inside the frig walls as tubing is all metal and will rust when sitting for a long time in storage due to moisture build up from been warm outside and cool inside during normal usage in which case you may need to change the appliance at that point you will need a service call to find if there's still freon inside your frig and of coarse your control may not read the properly..

HI I hope I have reached Sea Breeze because I see someone had the same or similar problem as we are having from our GE GSS25... side by side refrigerator. this person wrote: "Water now comes out but only...

You have a bad main control board . Located behind the refrig , behind an 8 X 10 " panel . Easily replaceable . Sorry , not Seabreeze . You can reach him at seabreeze appliance parts . com , I think .

My older KA Ref Model KTRP20K & M is giving off a strong odor similar to iodine. Very strong in AM but can still smell it in PM. I've checked for spoilage and nothing there. Any thoughts? Is it time...

since it is working ok . i am wondering if you dont have mold growing in the drip pan ... condensation from inside the refrigerator goes down a small tube in the back bottom of the frig ... that tube goes to a pan under the refrigerator and normally the water just evaporates .. if there is a lot of condensate from the frig then the pan may stay wet long enough for mold to get established ... a large amount of condensate from the frig usually indicates a leaky seal around the door .. or a door that doesnt close completely .. you might want to clean everything under the frig including any fans, coils and that pan (unplug first) ... now this all assumes that the smell is coming from the outside not inside the refrigerator .. if the smell is inside then you may have to defrost and clean the evaporator (the coils inside the freezer (somtimes also in the refrigerator) ... there are some kinds of mold that actually grow in that cold environment .. some hot soapy water with a little bleach usually does the job .. or if you have one, a steam cleaner, those do great .. it allows you to get down in the little places and clean everything ... make sure the frig is at room temp first so plastic doesnt crack ..
the refrigerant r22 or r134a have very little smell so even if you had a leak it wouldnt smell strong .. a few refrigerators use ammonia and that would have a distinctive smell easily recognized if there was a leak .

Every few weeks the ice in my freezer melts. It

You will need to remove the bottom freezer crisper and check the defrost drain , to see if it is iced over . If so , then use a hairdryer to melt the ice ( hot water also helps ) . When you see the drain , ( could be obvious obstruction from plastic ) , use a small hose inserted into the hole , to blow thru , to remove any unseen debris blockage .
You may have to remove the rear inside freezer panel to access this drain , depending on your model number . So make sure the drainhole is open. When it happened to mine this was the problem.

Refrigerator light is on but it's not getting cold

Yes, I can help you. (If you like). But you will need to answer a few questions. For example was the freezer and refrigerator doors left closed for all that time with out allowing the moisture inside to escape and not cause the controls to rust or short out. Let me know and rate me if I am helpful, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Turns off won't turn back on unless you move thermostat

Sounds like a defective cold control ( off/on thermostat).
They will tend to stick in the off position. Your moving the knod unsticks it.

I own an LG up right refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. The unit is about three years old and we have been very happy with the frig. Lately the unit has been making a loud fan winding noise....

  • i would just replace the fan motor $40
  • they have bushings in them that sometimes make noise when the motor shaft moves to a certain position. when you open the door it disrupts the airflow of the refrigerator and the motor shaft will go to a different position causing the noise to stop.
