Hello my name is Mike Houston of DISH Network customer service. There is a way to have two remotes on one TV, the first thing we need to push the menu button two times to get to the system info screen on the working remote. Then there will be a number in a white box at the button of the screen, we will want to remember that number so we can put it in for the second remote. Now once we are on the SYSTEM INFO screen we will want to get the remote we want programmed to that receiver, we will hold down the SAT button on the remote until all the buttons light up on the top of the remote. We will let go and then press the number that we wrote down and press the # button. Now both remotes will change the satellite channels.

Hi, I'm trying to do the same thing with a PVR Dish 510. I have two remotes - both 6.2's - and they are both set for remote address 1, as is the dish system. One of the two remotes works just fine, the other has no control over my set, although it works on another family member's Dish 508.

Any suggestions? Unlike the first remote, the second has an A/B switch under the battery cover which, of course, I have tried on both settings.

    Thanks for your help,
    Brian

Thomas Faust,

Ron,

I am not sure which codes were used, but you can check out http://www.mydish.com/support/apps/remotecodes.aspx to view our entire list available. I am unsure if the AUX mode will work with the OTA converter. I have listed the steps below to do a power scan which lets it go through all available codes. If you have a model 20/21.0 remote, you can also utilize the learning function on the remote.

With the OTA Converter on, press and hold the AUX mode button (about six seconds) on the top of the remote until all mode buttons light up, then release. Press 2, then press STAR (*)

Press the Up arrow button once per second while pointing the remote at the converter. If the code for it comes up, the equipment power off.

When it does, press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light will flash three times. To verify the code works try several different functions for that equipment.

VIP 211k stuck on channel 96

mport68,

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble, but would be happy to provide assistance on this. Try pressing 0 on the remote to exit out of the application. Are you able to move around on the screen, or is it giving no function at all?

I cannot exit the system wizard

vmarlbor,

If the remote has no function, try using the receiver panel itself to navigate. If you still have no function, unplug the receiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in.

If it continues, or if you have any other questions, let me know

Cannot enter system wizard in Dish Network VIP211k

Hey Jim,

I apologize for any confusion. Our 211k receivers don't have the system wizard option. That feature is on the 222k/722k/922/Hopper receivers.

Let's check out the remote to see what can be done! If the remote is no longer working, make sure there is nothing that can cause interference like a heat source near the receiver, or direct sunlight on the receiver. If that's all clear, try readdressing the remote. I have listed the steps below!

Addressing Remote to Receiver:

1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test remote and see if it works.

If the problem continues, let me know and I will be happy to assist you further!

What is the code for dish receiver vip 211k

Eugene Sebik,

I would be happy to look into this further with you! What are you trying to address? There isn't a code required for our receivers, but to program a remote to a TV needs a code. If you can provide more details, I would be happy to assist you! I have included a link below that has codes for programming the remote to most devices!

What is the difference between the dish network vip 211 and 211k? thank you

Hello, Nick Franta with DISH Network Customer Service here.

The main difference between the 211 and 211k in terms of everyday usage would not be noticeable. The variation in model number is mainly used just in the type of equipment needed in the set up for installation.

If you have any further questions just let us know!
