Does the bobbin have a metal "peak" on it? If so, drop it in the machine with the peak up. Slide the cover only about half way till the 2 arrows on the left match up. Thread the top as normal, put the machine in straight stitch. Thread the needle, then put thread under the foot and wrap thread around the post on the left. Leave foot up. Hold onto the end of the thread and start your machine. The bobbin should be winding now. After a few wraps you can let go of the thread and it should have broken off as you continue winding till the bobbin is full.

SOURCE: my singer 4166 sewing machine won't pick up the bo...

I had the same problem straight out of the box. I decided to buy a new machine and came across the 4166. It had more than enough functions and seemed to run smoothly. I too have problems with the bobbin not threading so I took it back into the store thinking I was doing something wrong. The saleswoman had the same problem. I was going to exchange it for another but before leaving I wanted to check to see if it worked. Again, same problem so I left without a machine. I spoke to the owner only to be told that 30% Singer machines are lemons and have to be returned for servicing because they don't work from the start. This is a waste of money and time.
The only suggestion I can offer is to either forget about the machine or take it into be serviced.

SOURCE: I am trying to tread

Look up a singer sewing machine store in your area and you can phone them and they will tell you what to do, or you may get them to fix it quite reasonably, or post your ad for free on www.kijiji.ca and someone can help fix it for you that knows how to fix sewing machines.

SOURCE: I've lost my user manual

You could email: [email protected] and ask for a manual or call (+44)1322 291137 x 2 between 10:00 and 14:30

Or (Thanks to an article 10 months ago from Farmerbear) you could go to allyint.com
They are the sole US importer of the Necchi machines and I believe they stock replacement manuals. Their number is: 1 800 525 9987 ex 20

SOURCE: In my Singer Sewing Machine

There could be several things causing this.
First, be sure the bobbin is in the bobbin case correctly. There is usually a line diagram showing the correct placement or you can check the owner's manual.
Second, make sure your needle is inserted correctly. If it is not completely set in the housing, this can prevent the bobbin thread from being caught by the hook. The groove in the needle should be ffacing toward you to assure that the thread interacts with the hook.
Third, be certain the upper threading is correct...passing through all thread guides and correctly through tension and take up lever.
Finally, make sure the bobbin case is free of lint. The machine brush that came with the machine will clean this area well.
I hope one of these suggestions helps you solve your problem. If so, please come back to Fixya and rate my advice!

I received singer sewing machine 2623 machine and I do not have the manual. How can I get it and how do I fill the bobbin

Singer has manuals for most of their sewing machines available at their site. For the 2623, the manual is only available as a bound copy for $15. Go to http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals and enter the model number then click Search.

I believe on this model, you fill the bobbin with it on the metal pin on the top right of the machine. With a metal presser foot in place, bring the thread up and around the guide that pin. Wrap the thread a few times around the bobbin. Set the lever to the bobbin winding position and begin winding. Stop and trim the excess thread from your initial wraps after it is fully caught. Then complete winding the bobbin.

(On other Singer machines, you fill the bobbin in place with the bobbin cover moved halfway open.)

I hope this helps.

Help I need a free manual for a Singer sewing machine model 756

If you go to singer's site you can order another manual for it. They do charge for it however. Their site adddress for ordering it is http://www.singerco.com/accessories/manuals.html

You will find free online picture illustrations for how to thread this machine and wind the bobbin here http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diagrams/Threading_Pages/Singer_Sewing_Machine_Threading/singer_756_threading_diagram.htm

You can go to this site http://www.tandtrepair.com/700TS.html for free online instructions for things like threading and tension adjusting for your machine. They also have parts and repair manuals for sale.

There are many sites who sell the manual but none that I could find have free ones. Hopefully the picture instructions above will help you some.
