#1 try a the key on a different system or ensure a known good key works on this one, sometimes there are drive letter conflicts prevent the key from being assigned a drive letter.

#2 like system RAM and other memory type devices, there is no repair if the device is not functioning. They are pretty much a toss on fail item, costs more to repair then replace.

some older pcs wont recognise sticks and sd cards larger than 4gb. it will probabaly be down to the version and service pack of windows you are using.

Go to my computer property then hardware then device maanger then uninstalll usb drivers from it then install again.
Then reconnect flash drive then check .If still face problem right clik on my computer icon then go to then manage then g oto disk mamagement then u can see removable drive open it .

Are you connecting it to the back of your computer? Sometimes the port in front does not have enough power to power it on.Also please try another computer
