Run your system in safe mode then uninstall the newly installed programme. If norton is not unistalling use norton uninstalling tool which can be downloaded from norton website.

first to run start windows normally if it doesn't start then use safe mode and if it don't start in safe mode try to start with last known good configuration.
If it start in anyone of the modes first of first remove norton as sometime it creates problem in uninstalling.I also have acer laptop with same problem i use norton removal tool.

Try the "last good configuration option - that might work.
If it does not you can try running in safe mode, and from there try to uninstall any remaining norton files from the control panel's uninstall software icon/

I have acer laptop, i tried to uninstall Norton 360 2010 last night, mu computer crashed and i can't get any further on than the password stage without my computer crashing.

You can boot into Safe Mode then restore from a save point prior to the Norton uninstall.
That's as far as I've got - even using the Norton Removal Tool gives me the same issue, so still haven't been able to get rid of Norton And have a stable laptop.

Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal on windows 7 netbook

Hi,

This dump occur when driver of the hardware is not accurate. Boot system in Safe Mode and uninstall driver which you installed last time. If you unable to enter safe mode, then you need to install a fresh copy of windows, then install proper drivers from Acer's official support site.

Hi,
First of all make sure you have another antivirus installed on the computer.

Download Norton Removal tool from here and run the program >>>>>>

http://service1.symantec.com/Support/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

Restart your computer and see if you can connect to the internet. If you can't then please post back making sure you tell me whether you are trying to connect wirelessly or wired.

Good luck.

I have Norton 360 V.2. Last night I downloaded

Boot up the PC in safe mode. How? Well when you start the PC press F8 before the windows start loading. A menu will open up. On top or there so you will find safe mode. Select it and boot. On booting in safe mode you will be warned that your PC is running in safe mode. Done? Now start control panel and then Add Remove Programs. Once that window is populated with all the progs that are installed on your PC, select Norton V3 and uninstall it. Uninstall V2 as well. Restart the PC in normal mode. Now install V3 and compute happily.

Aspire 5610 won't go past stage 3 configuration update

If you need to reformat the system, you can usually access Acer's built-in eRecovery by pressing Alt-F10 at the splash screen. Just bear in mind that restoring the system to factory specifications will erase the contents of your hard drive, so please ensure that your important data is backed up before doing so.

The "Vista Boot Loop" is a known issue though, but does have a solution, see here

If you are unable to use the repair portion of those steps, there is another workaround, but requires the use of other bootable media, such as Ubuntu (which you can download for free here). From there, try following these steps to get the pending.xml file renamed (see Comment #12 specifically, when using Ubuntu)

If you can solve it using the latter method, then you can get back into the system without having to reformat the entire hard drive and starting over.

Computer crashed.reinstall Norton

hello ,

i've made these constructions for you :

firstoff try to install any previous norton version ,after the installation go to dir C:\Program Files\Norton 360
then copy the file named CLTVault.dll and past it on your desktop (we're gonna need it later) .
after , try to download
Norton 360 v2.0 from here , then cut the net off and install the last version , the old version will be deleted automatically , when you see the activation part in the installation , exit the installation , and restart your computer to bootup in a safe mode , then copy the file CLTVault.dll that we have pasted on our desktop i, try to past it in C:\Program Files\Norton 360 , then agree on the replacement ,then open ur computer in normale mode and continue the activation then it will works fine .

Laptop gets an error reading when it is powered up

I bet you have VISTA and tried to uninstall Norton. Sounds like one of the Problems I've had with my 3680. I traced it to a VISTA-ACER driver problem. Something about the restore disks booting XP to install the drivers and not all of them VISTA ready. I've had to send mine back to ACER twice for a system reload. The first when I did a restore to get rid of the VISTA upgrade that I installed and the WIFI wouldn't work on restore. When I got it back I tried to uninstall Norton and got the message you are getting. Ended up sending it back to ACER again. After the last time there was a bunch of MICROSOFT driver updates and I'm stuck with Norton.
