The lid switch is buggered the lid can be open while its filling but when it goes to start washing the lid needs to be shut so the lid switch isnt working so the machine thinks the lids open.

AFTER WATER FILL , WASHER HAVE BIG NOISE BUT NOT RUNNING

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that you have to open and close the door numerous times, on your Frigidaire washer, to get it to start. I also see that it is making a big noise before running the cycle. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and start any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please leave me the model number of your washer. Typically, this number can be found on the back of the door or possibly around the edges where the door meets your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

What is hd code????

Hi Peter, If I understand your question correctly, you are asking what the code "HD" means for your machine. I am unable to find the code "HD", however, here is a list of the codes for these Maytag models, perhaps one looks similar to "HD". Hopefully this answers your question!

Washer displaying code messages
- "LF" (Washer is taking too long to fill)
Check the following:
Are the water inlet hoses kinked or clogged?
Are the water inlet valve screens clear?
Press PAUSE/CANCEL to clear display.
- "Ld" (Washer is taking too long to drain water from the wash tub)
Check the following:
Is the drain hose kinked or clogged?
Is the drain hose installed properly? See "Connect the Drain Hose." Press PAUSE/CANCEL
to clear display.
- "uL" (Unbalanced Load)
If the load is unbalanced, the washer will display this code while running an imbalanced
load correction routine at the end of the wash cycle and before the final spin. If the code
remains and the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, open
lid and redistribute the load. Close lid and press START.
- "oL" (Over Load)
Is the washer overloaded? The washer has attempted to fill and begin the wash cycle. If
the washer is overloaded, it will drain any water and detergent that was added during the
fill. To correct the overload, remove several items and add detergent. Close lid and press
START.
- "Sd" (Suds Detected)
Did you use regular detergent?
Regular or hand-washing detergents are not recommended for this washer. Use only High
Efficiency ("HE") detergent.
Did you add too much detergent?
Always measure detergent. Follow detergent manufacturer's directions.
If excessive suds are detected, the washer will display this code while running a suds
reduction correction routine at the end of the wash cycle. The suds reduction routine
removes extra suds and assures proper rinsing of your garments. If the code remains and
the wash cycle dial is flashing after the recovery routine has stopped, re-select your
desired cycle using cold water. Press START. Do not add detergent.
- "lid" (Lid Opened)
Is the lid open? Close the lid to clear the display. If the lid remains open for more than 10
minutes, water in the wash tub will drain.
- "HC" (Cold and Hot hoses switched)
This code will appear at the end of the wash cycle to indicate that the cold and hot water
inlet hoses are switched. See "Connect the Inlet Hoses."
- "dL" (Door/Lid cannot lock)
Indicates lid is not locked. Check for items caught in the lid keeping it from closing. Press
PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear the code.
- "dU" (Door/Lid cannot unlock)
Is there excessive weight on the lid, such as a basket of laundry? Excessive weight will
keep the lid from unlocking. Press PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear the code.
- "F##" code
Press PAUSE/CANCEL once to clear code. Press START. If code appears again, call for
service.

My washing machine fills up with water but does not continue the wash cycle. Sometimes when you slam the lid the washer will continue the wash cycle to the end. Other times the washer stays filled up...

Sounds like the lid safety switch is either out of adjustment, or needs replacement.

Most washers will fill with the lid open, but no continue a cycle where the drum or agitator spin, unless it senses the lid is closed.

Agitator starts at begining of cycle before washer is full

Please be carful as running the agitator without enough water will overheat and kick out the motor, however it should be ok when it resets itself.
Yes, the machine should stop agitating when you lift the lid so this too is part of the problem.
After looking at the print I can only suggest that the cam contacts in the timer ( contacts 12 and 14) that start the motor are burned and stuck together.

Water comes back in and stands after cycle is run

I'm not sure what washer you have but a lot of washers have an additional spin cycle. If you left the lid open, then it would only fill with water then sit until the lid is closed. Try making sure the lid is closed next time you empty it and see if the water is in there the next morning. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Won't run

Most washers today will not do anything after fill unless it sees the lid switch (innerlock system) closed. The same as having the lid of the washer up during a wash cycle. They will fill but until the timer, or ECB gets a signal back from the pressure switch (water level switch) it will go no further. Some of the electronic machines will also time out in the fill cycle because of a lack of water flow. The fill cycle is a timed event and if the water level switch ( controlled by the ECB ) does not close in the time alloted, it will stall. This can be checked by hitting the start button again. Most of these problems are caused by a lack of water flow on the initial start up. Cleaning your water inlet screens in the supply hoses and screens in the mixing valve itself will solve this issue.More information to the specific model would help pin-point this problem.

Washer continues to work even if water is not filled to top and even if i try to stop continues to spin

A defective pressure switch can interfere with the cycles that depend upon the switch to indicate when water has filled or emptied from the tub. It can also result in underfilling or overfilling of the tub. The switch routes current from the timer control to the temperature switch and the water inlet valve when the tub needs to be filled. Once full, the pressure switch cuts the current and reroutes it to the motor on the timer control to continue the cycle.
