My tv is a model 27v412t, and i was trying to put the closed caption manually since I lost my remote control and ended up blocking it. At the screen appeared Block on, I tuned off and now it wont turn on...

Look at the tv bazel frame at the bottom of the tv have manual controls buttons look for button said Menu.Push that button go into tv menu look for functions said close captioning turn it on to CC1,2,3 so on.Now tv with programming have CC logo should have close captioning.Or try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact remote as ur original remote.

Find a button on the tv manual control said Menu,press it. Goto tv menu find and turn off all CC1,2,3 and text 1,2,3.U should have no more closed caption.

this is probably the closed captioning option, go into the menu and turn off closed captioning, its probably on text....Hopefully this helps

Turn off the closed-captioning. It's set for "text" and the TV is blanking out the screen where the text would go if there was any. There's probably a single button on your remote to control captions, and it got pressed and put the set into text mode. Just press that button until the TV says "off" or use the TV's on-screen menu.

You must find the "All in one" remote. That will have a "display" button that needs to be pressed. You may just need to go to Radio shak and ask for an old one for a day to do it. Good Luck.

On the 27" TruFlat the closed caption button is hidden within the DVD buttons. You have to press it multiple times to shut off closed caption. It seems to have multiple sources for closed captions. Press the button until no source appears on the screen. ITS CONTROLED AT THE REMOTE CONTROL - NOT ON THE ON-SCREEN TV MENUS. Good Luck

Since we don't have the model number, I'll try to use a generic answer. There could be a button on the remote that says CC or closed caption. If so, push it until it says off. If it is not on the remote, then you will have to find closed caption in the menu and turn it off there. Hope this helps. For better instructions give me the model and I can pull up the service literature.

Assuming whatever your TV receiving from has close caption. (Not all TV channel has close caption) Solution 1) Get a new universal remote that support your model and has close caption button. Once you program in the code for your TV model and it works then all button should also programmed including th close caption button. Solution 2) Search online for the owner manual and read see how to turn it on using buttons on TV (if possible). Solution 3) Get new TV with close caption. (If you have an old old TV with bad and huge pixels then this solution is the best. Your eyes will thank you.)
