ERROR MESSAGE from picture mate deluxe viewer edition **the internal pad that absorbs ink during head cleaning has become saturated.(T557) The genuine photo cartrige listed above is recommended for replacement. ** But when i shake the cartrige it looks at least half empty !!! I have downloaded the epson SSC service utility version 4.3 ? to reset the printer ink but doing so i get error messages from the main screen.( i do see the picturemate printer in the utility selection and choose that one...with no result ) So the printer is on with the message on the display all the time connected or not to the COMPUTER. ( I have all the drivers needed for that printer in WIN 7) ... ... but the printer stays on that message ???? PLS What to do I"m at a lost ps I have 2 of these printer one picturemate deluxe, and one picture mate ( with a similar message )

  • brik101 Jan 05, 2011

I had to change the ink cartrige , for both printers and It did solve the problem ( 89.00$) witch is better then servicing the printers when it does not need any servicing. ( at a premium cost I hate epson for their END OF LIFE of printers ) ****
    I am a data processing veteran of 35 yrs ( my age 57 )
Although, from what i think this sponge absorber is within the ink cassette inside, because i would still get the same message after putting new ink cassette.
THE INK CASSETTE that is 50% full is garbage ( i hate epson ) and i have 4 epson printers
    one r280, one r2400 (professional use 13 x 49 prints ) and 2 picMate
EPSON AS NOW CONVICE ME NEVER AGAIN I WILL BUY EPSON PRODUCT
FELL FREE TO PASS THIS ALONG!
ONE FREE ADVICE FOR OTHER PEOPLE when prints degrade donot clean heads many times in a row ( this is what augment their shitty counter or whatever, clean once and better to print 2-3 times it might clean the head after 2-3 shot of printing , even if the prints are no good )
if they are still no good( the prints ) clean again, but never like 10 times in a row like I did .
You can print head nozzel chek after that BUT NEVER CLEAN NOZEL LIKE 10 TIME, BASING YOURSELF ON THE PRINT HEAD NOZZEL CHECK ( wich is good for epson sales of ink cartrige I HATE EPSON ) and their mentality.
    regards ...Philippe

The actual error refers to the waste ink absorber ..This is just a sponge like absorber..and can be changed or washed in last resort solution ...This error kicks in when the absorber is full with ink ..and can not function anymore..
change the waste ink absorber and after that reset the printer..and will work ..

for resetting the ink absorber you should either make a general reset ..or look in the maintenance menu .for absorber reset ..or for such ..related resetting ..
I didnt seam to find anything about the changing of this absorber ..but I linked the site..and if you can not locate it ..just write them and ask for guidance

My Canon MX320 printer showing error occurred 5b00.i follow what YouTube said and now it's saying service mode. And the alarm light is still blanking. What I should do next??

The error message "error occurred 5B00" on a Canon MX320 printer typically indicates a problem with the waste ink absorber. The waste ink absorber is a component in the printer that absorbs excess ink that is expelled during cleaning and other maintenance operations. When the waste ink absorber becomes full, it can cause this error to occur.
Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Reset the printer: You can reset the printer by unplugging it from the power source, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in.
  2. Service mode: You can enter the service mode by pressing the "Menu" button, then "Copying", then "Functions", then "Maintenance" and then "OK". Once in service mode, you can try to reset the waste ink counter.
  3. Clean the print head: Clean the print head to ensure that the printer is properly aligned and functioning correctly.
  4. Replace the waste ink absorber: If the waste ink absorber is full, it will need to be replaced.

Connon mp210 error message "ink absorber is full"

When the print head parks there is an absorbent pad directly under the cartridge. It is there to catch the ink when you do a head clean operation. Take out the ink cartridge and remove the pad with a tooth pick so you don't get ink all over yourself. Run it under a water faucet to clean the ink off the pad. Use a paper towel to dry out the pad and then reinstall in the printer.

I am getting an 5800 error

Ink Absorber Replacement OptionsThis printer has an ink absorber that takes in ink during the printing and print head cleaning processes. The cleaning process is necessary in order to keep the print head nozzles from becoming clogged. Over the life of the printer, the amount of ink that the ink absorber has absorbed is calculated by the printer. Eventually, after substantial use, the printer will enter an error condition when the ink absorber is nearly full. At this point, printing is still possible. Press the <OK> button to release the error. You will still be able to print for a short period. To protect the printer from damage, you will not be able to print at all once the ink absorber is full.
Canon recommends having the printer serviced before the absorber becomes full. We are aware that there are many "do-it-yourself" Web sites that offer instructions for making this repair. Replacing the ink absorber is a complicated and potentially messy procedure. Even if the ink absorber is successfully changed, the ink absorber counter must be reset. Be aware that if you attempt this procedure, it is at your own risk

My Canon Pixma MP780 is saying "waste ink absorber is near full"

Under the place where the inks park is a tray full of asorbent pads. It was the most awful thing to get to in my Pixma ip 2000. If you have a day to spare, and a work table, and some long needle nose pliers or maybe hemostats, and the usual tools, you can take the machine apart to get at it. Note which pads (and parts) go where, everything has to go back where it came from. The pads will rinse out with water, lots of it.

Canon IP500 printe displaying following error message, 'waste ik absorber almost full'. What does this mean? and how do I fix it?

hello

there is an absorbent pad in the bottom of the printer starting under where the print head rests, this is to absorb the ink that the printer sprays out during a cleaning cycle or a startup cycle.

the manufacturer knows the capacity of the pad and how much ink they spray out during the cycling, they keep track of this because when the pad becomes over full the ink will start to puddle under the printer making a very nasty mess.

sometimes one can order a replacement pad from the manufacturer and replace it yourself, sometimes they wont sell it to an individual because the printer needs to be disisembled to change it.

if they send you the pad it usually comes with directions on replacement and re-setting of message.

Personally, I wouldn't do it myself, I'd inquire w/ Canon about how much it would cost to have it done first...
