Try to tighten the compression nut on the saddle valve and see if it will stop, if it does not stop then you will need to replace the saddle valve.

Do I have a bad water supply valve?

The solenoid is going bad and might start a leak later if not fixed or likely won't stop the water flow! Get it replaced!

Corroded saddle valve

Shut off the main water valve and open some cold water faucets to relieve the pressure. Remove the entire saddle valve and make sure the piercing needle does not remain in the water pipe. Purchase and install a non self-piercing saddle valve and follow the directions. You will need a power drill and 1/4" drill bit for the install. Use teflon tape or paste on the treaded fittings. Test for leaks.

Aprilaire 500 water won't stop running down to condensate pump

Hello, sounds like rhe solenoid valve is stuck open. This will keep water flowing through the humidifier even if the Furnace is off. The solenoid valve will have to be replaced.

My aprilaire 760 is draining a ton of water how do i make it stop i dont care if it works anymore after it i just want the water to stop its filling a gallon pitcher every 7 mins

There should be a copper line going to the Humidifier follow it back to the main water supply and there should be a water shut off there. Either a quarter turn ball valve or a Saddle Valve with a T stem coming out the top Turn the T Clockwise till it get tight. If there is no shut off valves Check and see if there is a Humidistat that You can shut the Power off to the Solonid Valve. But if the Solonid Valve is leaking bye that won't work. If the Humidifier has a seperate Power Cord and not getting power from the furnace you can unplug it also.

What happens if the humidifier runs out of water? Humidifier is new and working fine. I Does the humidifier shut off automatically when it runs out of water?

The humidifier has a float valve in it much like a toilet tank does. If the water gets to low, the float valve should allow more water to enter the tank automatically. When it reaches the proper level, the float valve stops the water. The water line (either copper or plastic) coming into the humidifier should have a shutoff valve on it. Make sure that it is turned on.

What is the saddle valve?

Your humidifier will have either a copper or plastic tubing attached to it. This tubing is the water tubing. If you follow that line to where it "taps" into a water line (near the water heater or a water line under your house), there should be a water shut-off valve. The water shut-off valve could be any type of valve but is normally a saddle valve. You could skip the step of shutting off this valve; however, it is good practice to shut the valve off for two reasons: 1. in the event of a water leak, you will be able to easily locate the valve to shut off the water. 2. if the valve is not "excercised" from time to time, the seals will dry rot and the valve will not be capable of doing it's job when the need arises.

Here is a video showing you how to trace your water line to your saddle valve. There is additional information on the video that you might find helpful as well.

Aprilaire 700 never shuts off

Thanks for your question,
Sounds to me like you have a bad solenoid valve in your Humidifier, this will need replaced, the solenoid is supposed to open and close when there is a call for humidity only when the furnace is running, then when the proper amount of humidity is sensed by the humidistat, then will it shut off, with the solenoid not working it will let water flow through like an open faucet, the solenoid is the componet that the 1/4in copper tubing connects to at the humidifier, has two wires running from it, you will need to shut the power off before changing this out, also shut the water off at the valve at the other end of the 1/4in copper line, or you might get soaked, please be careful when installing the new solenoid, making sure the water line connection is secure, or you will have leaks, hope this was helpful, please leave a rating, thanks again for your question,
