GPS devices come with a variety of windshield suction mounts. All have
in common that the windshield and the suction cup both must be clean;
use a mild soap dispersed in some warm water to remove any dirt. Rinse
properly. Sometimes it helps to keep the cup a little moist.
Make
sure the cup is not warped due to previous exposure to heat, and check
for any nicks in the rubber. Small damage may easily make the mount
unusable and you'd need to get a replacement.
Models with a lever
mechanic: open the lever (cup becomes flat), press the cup against the
windshield and while keeping pressure, close the lever. It will lift the
middle of the cup away from the windshield, causing a vacuum.
Models
with a ring around the cup base: Turn the ring all the way
counter-clockwise (cup becomes flat), press cup against windshield and
while keeping pressure, turn the ring clockwise 90 degrees. This
requires some force, but in my experience these mounts stick more
reliable,
