I have this machine and have used it for about a year. Most important is use fresh beans within 15 days of roast, and within 15 minutes of grinding. You cannot get good results from this machine using pre ground coffee, or pods. Second, this machine is terrible with temperature stability. When warmed up it will usually be way too hot. Wait for the machine to warm up (light will come on). Open the steam valve, run the brew pump for 5 to 10 seconds into your cup and turn it off. Shut the steam valve, wait for the light to come back on. Immediately hit the brew button. This procedure will do a nice cooling flush and hit more towards the right temp.
Third, the pressurized basket that comes with this machine just dosen't do the job right. Replace it with a Mr. Coffee double basket, non pressurized and you will see immediately better results.
Last, the screeching steam wand. This machine will give wet steam, all the time. After pulling the shot, hit the steam switch and wait 20-30 seconds, then open the steam valve full to purge water out of the wand. Close the valve, then go to steaming your milk. There is a place about 1/4 inch below the surface that you'll hear only a chhh-chhh sound. Wand too deep, it will screech and wake the neighbors. Too shallow and you'll get sudsy big bubbles. Just find that sweet spot and surf there till you're at 140-150 degrees then turn the valve off. Good luck.

How about a new grinding cup for $10?

There seems little support and no parts diagrams that show how the parts fit together. There are a couple of videos that may help as all models work to a theme where the grinding cup is concerned.

I need an instruction manual.

First try the Use and Care Guide search on the Hamilton Beach site: Hamilton Beach Good Thinking. If that does not work becaust the model is too old then do a Google search for Hamilton Beach (your model number) owner's manual (or use and care guide).

Hamilton beach single serve coffeemaker light flashing

If the power light is flashing on your Hamilton Beach Single Serve Coffeemaker, there could be a few different issues that may be causing this. Here are a few things you can try:
  1. Check the water reservoir: Make sure that the water reservoir is properly inserted and filled with water. If the water level is too low or the reservoir is not inserted correctly, the coffeemaker will not turn on.
  2. Check the coffee pod holder: Make sure that the coffee pod holder is properly inserted and that the lid is closed securely. If the coffee pod holder is not inserted correctly, the coffeemaker will not turn on.
  3. Check the power cord: Make sure that the power cord is plugged in securely to both the coffeemaker and the electrical outlet.
  4. Unplug the coffeemaker: If none of the above solutions work, try unplugging the coffeemaker from the electrical outlet and wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in. This can sometimes reset the machine and fix any issues.
If none of these solutions work, it may be a more serious issue with the machine and you may need to contact Hamilton Beach customer service for further assistance.
