Connecting dell dimension 4600 to home theater.

Hoping to connect dimension 4600 to samsung HTZ410 home theater.

If you have either an Optical audio out connection or a pair of rca connectors you should be able to do this

Well that is a problem. You can go to "support.dell.com" to download the drivers, however since you can't connect to the internet you will need to use a friends computer and download it.

go into internet options and connections and tell it to never dial a connection see if that helps

Dimension 4600 does not recognize cd/dvd drives

Open the computer, and check if the cables that go to the CD/DVD drive are connected. If so, try downloading and installing the drivers for the disc drives. I hope you get it fixed!

No, it doesn't. The Dell Dimension 4600 doesn't come with wireless. If you want to add wireless connectivity, you will need a Wi-Fi PCI card, like the following:

My monitor has gone to Power Save Mode

Hello,
If your monitor is going in Power save mode it can be cause by following reasons.
>Check the data cable going from monitor to your Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is connected properly.The connector will be blue or white in colour.
>If the Dell Dimension 4600 Tower is powering on.

If still in power save mode then try to shutdown Tower and monitor,disconnect power cable from tower and monitor.Hold the power button on tower for 15 seconds.Then again try to connect monitor and check,if still nogo,and if tower has no lights then issue with motherboard or video card or power supply.If possible try connect spare known good monitor.

Driver problems

JPWatson, This link will take you to the drivers for your Dimension 4600 with Windows XP: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&SystemID=DIM_P4_4600&os=WW1&osl=EN As far as the PC showing you already have a connection I would ignore that for now. Just download the appropriate drivers from this Dell page including the network interface card drivers and install them first. After you have rebooted and verified that the hardware devices are working correctly then start troubleshooting your Internet connection if it is still necessary. WANT INFO ON dELL d5110 TOWER PC it has many issues of non working or not properly working and it's files move so Windows can't find them making it rather useless. It has an infrastructure wifi system that never worked but is virus clean, hardly used (like brand new)along with refusing most programs that can rectify these problems. The 'shop' said they're clueless. Am I going to have to replace it-most likely?!
