From what you described, it sounds like your carafe isn't fitting properly. The lid of the carafe is supposed to open a valve on the bottom of the filter basket. If this valve is clogged or not opening completely, that will produce your symptoms. Also, the warming element will not keep carafe hot if the carafe isn't sitting properly.
The problem is probably with your oven ignitor. Remove the racks from the oven. Remove the bottom shelf from the oven. There may or may not be a metal plate covering the flame spreader. If there is remove it. The ignitor will now be visible. Turn the oven on and pay attention to the ignitor. It should begin glowing but wouldn't get hot enough or bright enough to open the gas valve. Should be a bright light from the ignitor. If there isn't then thats your problem.
Although this isn't a common problem, one of the thermostats that controls the temperature in your dryer may break and cause the dryer to heat poorly. If so, you need to replace it. The thermostat is usually a small, round, black device mounted to an oblong steel plate. The plate is mounted to the internal ductwork with two screws.
Generally, with enough heat and good insulation, water will boil. Boiling is caused by non-uniform heating - some spots are hotter. My wife's slow cooker boils even on the low setting -slowly, but it boils. Our rice cooker never used to boil until I burned tomato rice in it (OOPs). Don't make tomato rice in a rice cooker.
It should not be a matter of how hot, but when. If it only happens when the car is hot then I would check the level. While checking the level, I would see if there is any blackish stuff in the fluid. If there is then I would have your tranny rebuilt because the clutch material is breaking down and could be the cause of the slipage.
Blinking red light is a standby phase, its not going to get hot like this. Shake it or just start ironing, the red light will go solid and the plate will heat up. The red light will go off when the plate is hot enough. It will go on again (solid) after a few minutes to keep the plate at the right temperature. If you leave it standing around for a while it will begin blinking again (standby).
These irons are known for malfunctioning though, mine stays in standby and the plate never heats up! Hopefully yours is fine.
