If the air ways are clear and the fan is running fast, does it blow lots of hot air or would you expect it to blow more. Try cleaning the exhaust side of the uProcessor fan out with a vacuum cleaner and use fresh heat sink compound on the uProcessor heat sink..
If it still gives trouble, browse toshiba.com for a BIOS update to speed the fan up.
Hope that helps.

Crashes several times a day.

I had a similar problem with a Compaq laptop. Turned out to be the battery. To see if it is, take the battery out and run it from the mains for a while. If the problem occurs then its not the battery (not much help I know but it illiminates one possible source).

Need drivers for laptop hard drive crashed reloaded windows but no drivers toshiba does not list this model

www.drivermax.com
visit the above site, download the free driver utilty and it will scan for hardware, find the latest drivers and let you choose what to install( I used it to "downgrade" from vista to xp on my Toshiba Equium P300D, it was excellent).

Problem with Toshiba Equium Laptop which is switching itself off. even when connected to mains supply Is this a problem with the switch or power supply? Hope you can help thanks

If the laptop shuts down and won't boot up straight away, then the problem could be an overheating CPU problem. It could be a faulty fan and/or the fan and heatsink assembly is clogged with dust.
Check the fan and if it has stopped spinning then replace it and if the fan and heatsink is clogged with dust, loosen the dust and remove it.

Toshiba equium m40x won't power up

whats happening is that the cpu is overheating and shutting down the computer due to your fan not spinning, if you wish to test this remove the bottom panel and remove the fan and its cooling tubes should all be one part (quite easy 3 or 4 bolts) and blow on the cpu or put a pedistal fan facing it or any other form of cooling that wont damage it, and try to start it if it boots for a while it is the fan and you will need to replace it, i had this exact problem yesterday
