Envision EN-7220 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor Logo

When I woke up this morning, my monitor was black. I have an EN-7220. First, I tried jiggling the monitor cable (hooked up to my video card), to see if there was no signal coming from my PC. Every once in a while, the screen would come back on, but only for a few seconds, before shutting back off. I then began to realize that the image would appear, if I turned the monitor off and turned it back on. The image would appear then, but only for a moment. This is obviously on the side of the monitor, but I can't tell what the problem is, or what happened. Your help would be greatly appreciated.. It's not my monitor, it's a friend's, and I need to return it soon.

SOURCE: Envision EN 7100si LCD 17" flat screen

First try auto-adjust with the auto button on the screen
if not worked

Make sure she installed the envision driver. I jus saw it's a discontinued product. Also this product has a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024.

If installed check her resolution. Right mouse click on desktop>properties>screen. Try alternate resolutions and see what happens but don't set it higher then 1280 x 1024 if possible.

SOURCE: Monitror keeps cycling through on-off

my suggestion is try to contact an expert technician of your monitor maybe it has loose contact inside.or before contacting anyone else try to boot your pc in safemood, if it runs smoothly then your monitor cannot support the screen resolution of your pc.

SOURCE: Won't turn on

This is a problem with either the power supply or or logic circuit. It could also be caused by a failure in the back light circuits. One of these problems has caused the power supply to go into protection mode and will not turn on due to bad voltages sensed in the feedback circuits. Return to dealer for service. Hope this helps you .

SOURCE: the monitor turns on and connects to my computer then turn off but the power stays on. any ideas?

Make sure the external VGA port on your laptop is enabled. Not all laptops automatically detect a monitor connected and turn on the port. There will be a function key somewhere on the keyboard to control the port. Location varies by manufacturer and model. The usual sequence when you press the key is: laptop display on and external VGA off, laptop off and VGA on, both on.

SOURCE: Resolution problems following a power lock.

Turn on the on screen menu by pushing the number (1) button. Go down the menu to the memory recall function and Push the number (2) button to reset all the controls to factory settings. This should return you monitor to it normal function. If this does not solve your problem, you can call Envision customer support at this telephone number. 1-888-838-6388. They should be able to help you solve the problem. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

White screen showing on monitor

Sounds like you have a bad monitor.

Try unplugging the monitor for several minutes and re-connect.
Also, you may want to re-seat your video card on PC.
If you have another monitor to check your video with, it would help.
Hope this helps.

Just go a dell precision 380 hook up for the monitor has 3 prongs and the computer has 2 what do I need to hook it up.

On the left side are different views. I am looking at the REAR view

At the Bottom, of the Rear of the computer, are 6 expansion slot openings.
Two of the expansion slot openings have an adapter card in them.
The other 4 are covered with an expansion slot cover. (Metal)

One of the adapter cards is a Graphics Card.

Looking at the Back of the computer, and from Left to Right;
there is a;

1) S-Video port
Black in color, round in shape

2) DVI port
White in color, parallelogram in shape

3) VGA port
Blue in color, parallelogram in shape

This article shows a graphics card with the same setup,

S-Video,

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Video-Connectors-Tutorial/157/4

You can use the S-Video port, or the VGA port, or the DVI port; to connect a monitor.
However out of all three, the DVI port is the best.

VGA is Analog.
Your computer puts out a digital signal. (Digital video signal)

DVI is Digital Visual Interface. In otherwords - Digital.
Therefore DVI is the best.

Armed with the above information, can you clarify more about your problem?

For example;

Monitor cable has three prongs........

Using the above information, can you tell me what monitor cable it is?

Computer has two...........

Can you tell me where on the computer, you are trying to plug the monitor into?

Please post back in a Comment.

Whenever the monitor is turned on, it displays for about 3 seconds and then goes black. what to do? It is only about 3 yrs old

One of three things is the most likely culprit.

1. Onboard video card is either disabled or bad.
2. Cable is bad
3. Monitor is bad.

You can check the last 2 relativly easily by hooking the monitor and cable up to another computer to see if they function. if they don't then first try swapping out the cable (i say this first because its cheaper) then swap out the monitor.

To see if the video card is bad try hooking up a different monitor to the system. If the new monitor is not displaying anything then you most likely will need to put a new video card in the machine.

My computeris running but I have a black screen. Could this be the battery in the mother board?

the battery on the motherboard is what keeps your cmos and bios up to date. this problem could be a bad connection of the monitor cable into the back of your computer, a bad monitor, try hooking up another monitor, or a bad video driver. i would try and hook up another monitor to your computer or hook your monitor up to another computer to see what happens.
if your moniter works on another computer and you have an onboard video driver, try installing a video card.

Colored vertical lines on monitor

Have you unplugged the power cord to the LCD? Let it sit for a minute, then try it. ALWAYS buy a UPS and plug any computer devices into it. Doesn't have to be big, a $50 unit will protect it from dangerous voltage surges.

3 inches of black on both sides of my monitor

I have seen this when using HDMI cables from the computer side.. The TV has a resolution that is not always full screen with TV shows. There is a setting that allows you to "zoom". My TV has 4 settings: normal, stretch and crop, stretch left and right, stretch and pinch (shrug).

Video to monitor problems

4 beeps means either a bad video card or bad memory.  Try to take out and reseat the video card and the RAM.  If that doesn't do it try using another video card or RAM.  In my experience, 9 times out of 10, the memory is either bad or dusty and not making contact.

Computer not booting up

Could be one of two things:

1. Signal cable from monitor isn't hooked up. (either monitor end or computer case end)

2. Video card in the computer is damaged and not putting out signal. This is unlikely though as usually this will trip the motherboard into beeping when you turn the computer is turned on.
