Question about GE Adora DVM1850 Microwave Oven

Ge Adora dryer model#DHDVH52EFOWW started making a screeching noise in the middle of a cycle and does it again if I restart it.

Remove door and check horse shoe shaped plastic guides located at the top of the door that the drum rides on for wear....replace if worn

Suspect inverter (power) and or the Magnatron---neither are cheap parts.

I have a model GE JVM1653BD 001 microwave. Sometimes when it runs it makes a loud growling sound. It appears to be heating normally though. Intermittantly makes this noise.

I have the same model ending in 003, and it has made this noise for most of its life of several years now. Every now and again it runs quietly.

My theory is the cooling fan (not the hood fan) is making noise. The problem began within the first year of operation, and up till now everything is in good working order otherwise. There is no odor of failing parts.

My installation book has no electrical circuit diagrams, and I came upon your question when searching the topic.

This problem is commonly attributed to a turntable motor that has worn out and may need to be replaced. The motor is attached to (and is located under) the center plastic piece (called a turntable shaft or coupler) under the middle of the glass tray that you were referring to. This is a very simple repair, that usually is not expensive. The price range will be determined by the model and manufacturer. This repair can also be performed on an over the range model microwave oven WITHOUT uninstalling it.

I have a GE Adora Mircrowave only 3 months old. It does not start although all other functions seem to be working. When I hit sensor cooking and then start is says I cannot press pause during sensor...

The first thing I would suggest is a hard reset. Unplug the unit for a minute or so. Then plug it back in, set the clock and try again.

Otherwise, it sounds like you have a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer to get it fixed free.
