What I'm going to suggest is you download your pictures to your computer then format the SD memory card in the camera. What might have been happening is that you began using this card without formatting it first then as you had pictures you didn't want you used the delete or erase button (little garbage can) what then happens id the deleted picture leave a little bit of a file behind which takes space on your memory card. Eventually there is enough dead space that teh camera can't write to the memory card. Memory cards need to be formatted each time pictures ahve been downloaded to the computer. Format the card and everyone is happy.

hi, the memory card you are using is to small for the camera it has not got enough memory on it you need to get at least a 1gb memory card or 2gb memory this will then allow you to take between 500 and 1000 pictures the 16mb card you have in is not worth using it will only hold a couple of pictures so go to the well known auction site and buy a 2gb memory card of the same type such as sd card or micro sd or mini sd it should tell you on the 16mb card what type it is then just buy the same type but with either 1gb or 2gb or even 4gb of memory this will then let you take 1000s of pictures

the 16mb card is no good in your camera get a bigger card and your problem will be solved

let me know if you have any problems with the new card ok

How to switch the camera over to saving pictures directly onto the SD card.
  1. Menu
  2. Cam settings
  3. Chose AUTO or SD card option and Press OK
Note: If the SD card isn't in the camera or is unreadable the camera will automatically go back to saving you taken pictures on the internal memory.

If you are using a card reader of some sort (other than using the camera to download the images), it may not be SDHC compliant. Have you tried using the camera to download the images via the supplied cable? If you've taken the images in RAW format, that could also be the problem. Try using a 2gb or smaller card in the camera to take some images and then download them using your usual method. If it works with the 2gb card but not with the 4gb, it's likely your reader isn't SDHC compliant.

Take the card to a store that has a Kodak picture maker kiosk (like Walmart). Your pictures should show up and you can print them or even make a cd. After you do that, format the card in the camera before using it again.

KINGSTON 4GB MEMORY SD CARD

Check if your camera can support a 4G card. Some don't support than 2GB. if it supports, re-insert the card.
PS. If you have a card reader. Formatting once from your computer can help.

File error

I have two S760 also having the 'file error' on just some shots Like graham-s-sk new sandisk 2gb and when downloaded the file is there but the attributes are currupted. Talked to Samsung who said the sd card should be formatted on the camera and not to rely on the Sandisk formatting. Have tried this and taken 100 test shots - so far so good!
