I got an MS 7390 and lately I updated to the latest BIOS version which is 1.20. I normally use a USB keyboard but when I start up the computer it asks me to press DEL to enter setup. The problem is that the USB keyboard won't respond at that time but only after windows load. The only way to start up the computer is to plug in a PS/2 keyboard, enter BIOS, load optimized settings and save and exit. Then it reboots and starts windows normally.

Hello download a manual here at MSI:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K9N-SLI-V2.html#/?div=Manual

You need to unzip the file when downloaded.

I guess the bios upgrade set the usb function off
You have to enter the bios and set it on again.

Look in the manual how you do that.
You need a PDF reader to read content.

Good luck

SOURCE: I have an msi ms-7390 k9n sli ver 2 motherboard

move the sata connection for your bootable HDD to another port like 3 or 4 and the bios will detect then run bios setup to boot from the sata 3 or 4 and it works like normal, must be a bug in sata 1 and 2. had same issue trying to install win7 x64. Win 7 refuses to detect sata DVD drive, moved it on the MB and it installed fine.

I have a ps/2 keyboard but my ps/2 keyboard com port not working. so i sold a USB keyboard but my CMOS settings are enabled only OS.so i canot entre CMOS setting by keyboard

Hi,
Unfortunately BIOS reset will not help you, the default setting for USB keyboard support is set to OS and you need set it to BIOS. I would recommend you to go with your mainboard to a specialized service, sometimes the problem is only a defective capacitor. If you reset your CMOS, the first boot device will be set to Floppy. You could try updating your BIOS to the latest version (maybe in that version the USB keyboard is set to BIOS) but I don't know if you can create a batch file to update the BIOS automatically, without confirmation from keyboard... The reliable solution is the technician. You can also try to connect your PS2 keyboard to the mainboard using an USB adapter but as I know in that case the keyboard is treated as an USB device...

If this is the solution for your problem, please rate my post, otherwise give us more details.

Regards,
Andras

ASUS K8V-MX Motherboard recognizing 320 GB SATA harddisk. Why?

It could be that your BIOS needs updating for this motherboard. Take note of your BIOS version when your computing is booting. Try hitting the Pause key to freexe the screen, but if no luck go into BIOS and see if the BIOS version is listed. You typically get in BIOS by hitting the "Delete' key on your keyboard when the computer starts up and the first bunch of words appear in white characters (might be a light grey)
