Bravos mct Dryer Loud Screeching sound upon startup ModelMEDB850WQ0

A loud screeching sound from your dryer could be caused by a few different issues. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Belt: A worn or broken belt can cause a loud screeching sound. To check this, unplug the dryer and remove the front panel. Look for any signs of wear or damage to the belt. If it looks worn or broken, you'll need to replace it.
  2. Drum Rollers: Dryer drum rollers can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, the rollers may be worn and need to be replaced.
  3. Idler Pulley: A faulty idler pulley can cause a screeching noise. You can check this by removing the belt and spinning the pulley by hand. If it feels rough or wobbles, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Motor: A motor that is failing can also cause a loud screeching noise. You can check this by turning the drum by hand and listening for any unusual sounds coming from the motor.
If you're not comfortable checking these components yourself, it's best to call a professional to diagnose and repair the issue.

The dryer makes a loud noise when running. It still works and drys. Its a loud screeching sound. Do you think the belt needs to be replaced?

Could be the one of the 4 drum rollers, Idler pulley or belt.
I usually replace them all at once for long term reliability.

Loud screeching noise from dryer.

sounds to me like the nylon pieces that isolate the drum from the front of the door are gone, you may want to open it up and take a look at it. Is it an old dryer? Its either that or I suppose it could be the bearing in the middle of the back but I dont think it would be in only certain parts of a rotation, it would be all. Im sure the drum probably just ate through the nylon seperator.Theres not much else that only makes noise part of the time.. and theres not many moving parts.
Im not sure if there are replacement pieces for this but you can google it.

Dryer screeching when on

likely has a slipping belt , it will smoke before too long,
unless something got between the drum and door and is scratching .
