You have weak capacitors in the power supply and the signal board. I have not repaired this particular unit, but have experienced this with other Polaroid TVs. You will need a TV tech to replace those capacitors. It is a very time consuming task and requires patience and much care to remove the capacitors. Tell a tech that they must be very careful when they remove a cap in the signal board, as they can peel off a pcb trace. In most cases they replace the signal board, but the capacitors can be replaced! Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

I have my computer monitior hooked up to my polaroid flat screen tv. Worked fine for a while, then got a blue screen that says "not support". It has also been making a loud screech and a crackaling noise....

The 'NOT SUPPORT' message is due to the video signal resolution form your PC is too high for the TV to display, you need to set your PC video resolution to the native resolution of this TV.
Loud screeching sound may be causing by failing amplifiers if it comes through the speaker or may be from the power supply module due to bad/dying DC filter caps.

High pitched noise

The power supply is starting to fail on your LCD. The noise you hear is because the circuit is trying to provide the proper power to the rest of the circuitry and is forcing itself.
The noise does increase if you tune to an HD channel because of more demand for power for a brighter picture.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
