Requirements: 1 Router, 1 psp. 1. Make sure your psp WLAN switch is on. It is located on the top of the newer psp's, or on the left of the older ones. 2. Go go to the psp menu, then go to the left tab on the left. Scroll to the very bottom of that menu. 3. Click "Network Settings", then "Infrastructure Mode" click that. 4. Click "[New Connection]", then "Scan". 5. Now it will show a list of Routers and or connections. The "SSID" name will be of your router.(Make sure the signal strength is 70% or better! And also that the Security is "None" Unless you know the security code.) 6. Press right or X when it shows the SSID menu. 7. Press right or X on the WLAN Security Settings (DO NOT CHANGE THIS OPTION!) 8. Press right or X on "easy" unless you have knowledge on networks. (If you do not see this then you have a security code, if so put it in on that menu then you will see this one.) 9. Press X on the "Connection Name" to edit it, change the name to some thing you will let you know its your connection. Then Press the Start button when done with the name. 10. What i need to do to connect my psp for internet

You will need a wireless router in order to connect the PSP to the internet
  • With your Psp turned on go to the "Settings" in the menu (scroll to the left)
  • Scroll all the way down until you have reached "Network Settings" and click the "X" button to enter
  • Select "Infrastructure Mode" and hit "X"
  • Select "New Connection" and hit the X button again
  • Now you will have a number of options for connecting to a wireless connection. Choose "Scan" and press the control pad to the left, the PSP will now scan for wifi signals around your area
  • When the PSP finishes scanning you will probably have a few different wifi connections. SSID is the name of the connection, the Security column tells you whether or not the connection is password protected, and the last one is the signal strength the higher the better
  • If you want to borrow your neighbors unprotected wifi select a connection with "None" in the security column and a strong signal. If you want to use a secure wifi than you will need to know the password. Select one and press the X button
  • Now the Psp will confirm your settings proceed by pressing left on the d-pad and save your settings
  • Now test your connection if you are able to connect, awesome. If you were not able to connect try doing the settings again
  • With the connection settings in place we can now connect the PSP to the internet. In the home menu scroll all the to the left until you have reached "Network" and go down to "Internet Browser" and hit "X"
  • Your browser will appear, select the little square box to enter the web address, play around with the different options. Have fun with your PSP online

My PSP internet connection not supported to my access point.

The SSID is the NAME of your Routers connection. So you need to know your WiFi connections Name, That's the "Access point" Security, Is IF you assigned a WEP/WAP KEY, when the router was first setup. If NO Key is set, that is what it means "Unsecured",
You need to get a Netgear router manual, for your exact model, it shows all in pictures how to do it.

HOW DO YOU GET ON LINE WITH A PSP

Step1 – Go to Settings and then select Network settings
Step2 – Select Infrastructure Mode and start a [New Connection]. By setting up in Infrastructure Mode, you will be able to take advantage of the more exciting features of the PSP, such as browsing the Internet and playing games online with your friends.
Step3 – Access the WLAN Settings and select scan to search for an SSID of nearby access points. If you find more than one access point, simply connect to the one with the strongest signal.
Step4 – Once an SSID is found, select it (make sure you don’t rename it) and move to the WLAN Security Settings. You should note that if the access point is using WEP encryption, you will need to enter the WEP key manually (when the access point is detected, it will display the type of encryption it is running. WEP key should be displayed on your router. If it displays none, simply move onto the next step.
Step5 – Now you have a couple of choices of either Easy or Custom in Address Settings menu. I suggest you selecting the Easy option which will complete the Infrastructure Mode set-up automatically.
Step6 – Choose your Connection Name and enter it. A Setting List will be displayed. Press x button to save settings.
Step7 – Test Connection to make sure everything works. If all is okay, Network Settings will display Connection Name, Signal Strength, SSID, BSSID, Channel, Security and IP Address.
In a nutshell there we are, 7 simple steps to connect your PSP to the internet using a wireless router to enable you to start surfing the internet, playing games online with friends, exchanging pictures and downloading your favourite RSS channels.

Can someone please tell me how to connect to the internet so I can send text messages on my psp?

For this you need a broad band connection. Now switch on the psp go to settings go down fully and enter network settings and enter infrastructure mode. There select [New Connection] and you will enter WLAN settings there select scan. While doing this remember to do this switch on the broad band so that the psp will be able track it while scanning. After it finds your WLAN it will show you the SSID,Security and signal strength. Then press 'x' and type the SSID and press the right arrow to continue. Now you mus type the security code if you have one otherwise press none. Then select the address settings to easy or custom and keep going front until you find the sentence 'Press the x button to save settings'.Now you can browse the internet with the connection. But remember to switch on the broad band when you want to browse the internet.
