Thanks. I ended up having to insert the USB flash drive (stick) with the WiFi update and OS update on it, but it wouldnt recognize it on the netbook. But I found that if I leave the flash drive in it will link up! Go figure! I know...strange. Again, thanks for the help! Happy New Year to you too! :)

This may be a problem with your firewall. I would disable your internet security and the Windows firewall long enough to see if you can connect. If you can, then you need to go into your firewall software and allow the local network connection.
Just a thought.
var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_4dc3ec2ec6c846a0b3b3d45c75636bc1(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

Describe your 7" G-Netbook

There may be many reasons for this. Please check the following things one by one.

1. If you have another known good laptop then try it with your wi-fi router. See if the wi-fi router is able to connect to the internet

2. If you don't have another laptop then use an ethernet cable (RJ45) cable to connect to the wi-fi router. See if this helps.

3. While connected with the wi-fi router see if you can access the router. open any internet browser and type 192.168.0.0. you should get the router page. If you don't get then you have to configure the router first.

4. Check the internet settings of your browser. There will be "internet options" or similar in the menu of your browser. Click that. In the GUI you will get "connections" tab. Click that and select the proper wi-fi setup.

Hello. I have the 7 inch Sylvania netbook and the WiFi internet is not working. I've connected it to my home WiFi internet and it has good signal and everything but when i click on Internet Explorer it...

Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions.
For item # 5, you may have to call your Internet Service Provider (Charter, AT&T or whoever you pay for your internet in order to get your "network keys" fill that in and then click "OK".

Next be sure you go to "Start", "Settings", "Control Panel", "Internet Options", "General" and complete "user agent (requires browser restart" by selecting:
"Default (same as windows XP)" or
"Same As Pocket PC" or
"Windows CE".

I selected "default" and was off and running.

Although this isn't a "lap-top" it is a really neat little machine and does a lot of stuff almost like one. It should be great for travel! It is a little slow and has small memory, but it's inexpensive and usb/sd ports are onboard. A regular universal mouse helps-just plug it into a USB port. I'm doing internet, movies, word processing, etc like everything and I think a lot of people are way under-rating this fun little machine! -DKA-

How can I conncet to my wifi

First, on the left side of the main screen, you will see an icon that says "WI-FI Power". That's the switch to turn it on. When you click it, a little box will appear that says "turn on" when it's off and "turn off" when it's on.

Next, on a "hooked up" computer, Google "digital gadgets.com". There find "Sylvania Products". Then click on "7 inch netbook support" and follow directions inputing to the 7" netbook as you go.

For item # 4, you find your "hot spot" name (on the 7" netbook) and click "connect".

WiFi is connected , but internet explorer wont run

But maybe you hadn't fully set it up.

Try checking the following to see if any of these steps were missed.
