KitchenAid KGST307 Gas Kitchen Range Logo
Posted on Jul 09, 2008

Hey, Kitchen Aid,, Gas Range, Model KGST307.  Two of us here had the same exact thing happen: i was cleaning the display panel, and somehow the door became locked, so it displayed "door locked" in the panel on the left, in the panel on the right it's saying "F5:E7" . There is nowhere to look up what it means,, it just says in the manual that F5 means there is something faulty in the grounding. And I know that's not the problem. . .  You had commented back that you needed the make and model, so there it is.. . please help !

I had this problem once and I just reached through the vent on the front with a knife and turned the locking mechanism. I eventually had to have the range repaired for self-cleaning mode, but this should at least let you get the door open!

Sounds like my problem two days ago. I have a Kitchen Aid free standing gas oven/range model
KGRI801PWH00. I read online that the thermo-fuse might've blown. I found the thermo-fuse after removing the rear panel. It was at the top/center. Mine is T-O-D (brand) 60F24; Westinghouse #8300802. I ordered mine from appliancepartspros.com for only $34.75; arrived in 36 hrs with regular shipping!! Easy to fix, sure beats several hundred $$ to repairman.

Don't bother to call Kitchen Aid - they'll just blow you off just like the hundreds of complaints said that I found online.

I have a Kitchen Aid range model KGST307GBS0. The

The door light switch was broken (upper right face of oven). The door switch is automatically activated when the door is opened to turn on the oven light. When the door is closed the switch is depressed to turn off the light. It seems the switch position is detected by the oven and if it is in the open position it will not allow the oven to function properly (reach temperature or allow the cleaning cycle to run). I temporarily locked the broken switch in the closed position, which allows the oven to function. A new switch was ordered for replacement.

Oven will not unlock after the self clean ended. error is displayed

When this happens on mine, it's due to a failed thermal fuse on the top of the oven. Some of these unit's (mine in particular) had to have a factory mod kit installed.
There is an override somewhere to allow unlatching the door, but the unit will still not work without replacement of the fuse.

Above glass in the oven door , there is a couple of vent holes. Using flashlight, somewhere in the middle you can see the locking bar in the lock position. I just helped it with small screwdriver to unlock and all was fine for a long time..
Now I'm searching why the oven quit ,but broil still working. No error displayed and no problem when going thru the selfdiagnostics . Any ideas ?. Darn thing.
