Having trouble mapping a drive for the magicjack to use. So I just plugged it in and the drives appeared but I get a Windows message "Safely remove USB Mass Device Drives (K:,J:)" my magicjack will not install properly and I tried to uninstall (I follow manual instructions to uninstall) and the computer wanted me to remove all my extra mapped drives and won't let me map new ones. What should I do it is driving me crazy?

Press windows key +R key so you can see run then type in run "devmgmt.msc" then press ok so you can see device manager uninstall all usb drivers then it automatic install usb drivers. then check. Also you need to change registry for that type in run "regedit" then press ok then you can see registry editor then locate below key. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11 CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} And remove upper filter and lower filter. Then restart computer then check.
Also locate the below key and make sure it's value is 3 not 4. HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\usbstor make sure start value is 3 not 4. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa

Windows xp sp3 stop error message 7e usb

Why not just pull it out instead of clicking on safely remove hardware? Try it and see if it works. Sounds like your usb drive is not windows 7 compatible. Or windows 7 has some driver issue which is not uncommon.

Will not recognize drive

If the drive is not being detected this is a sign that ether you just need to map the drive or that there is a problem with the drive encloser.

These links will help you map the drive letter to the drive. Also you might try the drive on another computer so times the the drive will not get safely removed and the drive state needs to be reset.

How to change your drive letter in Windows Vista and Windows 7

How to change your drive letter in Windows XP

If you still have trouble with the drive you may need to look at replacing the encloser for the drive or connect the drive directly to your computer. If you know the drive is working and you want to replace the encloser the link below will have the encloser that will work with your drive.

Gps has lost its maps, screen says can't unlock maps

There several reasons you may receive the message Can't Unlock Maps on your nuvi or zumo device.
  • Can you press OK and get to the Where To/View map screen?
  • Did you load maps to the unit using the MapSource or MapInstall program?
  • Did you load maps to an SD data card?

If one of the points above applies to you, please follow the steps below to clear the Can't Unlock Maps message:
  1. Remove SD card from unit, if applicable.
  2. Plug the unit into your computer with a compatible USB cable.
  3. Open MyComputer/Computer icon. (Mac users skip this step.)
  4. Right-Click on the Garmin drive and select Open. (Mac users can locate the Garmin drive mounted on the Desktop.)
  5. Open the Garmin folder.1
  6. Locate a file named gmapsupp.img
  7. Right-Click and delete file named gmapsupp.img
  8. Safely disconnect your unit from your computer to see if the Can't Unlock Maps message is gone.

1. Nuvi 1100/1200/1300/1400/1600/3700 and Zumo 665 users will open the Map folder instead.

*If the gmapsupp.img file does not appear in the Garmin folder, please create an unlock file for device.

Pen drive not showing in my explorer.

Its a common problem with the pendrive, in windows. some time it doesnot detect or not showing clearly that device. you have to check your pendrive manufacturer and driver details. and also check it out driver signing.

Do you have mapped network drives on your computer? If you have this may cause your problem. When you insert the PEN Drive into USB and the "safely remove hardware" icon appers try to right-click on it and choose "eject" or "remove" (don't remember :), then pull the PEN DRIVE from the USB and connect it again. Go to Windows Explorer and try to open all your mapped drives, then the content of your PEN DRIVE must be loaded into your Windows Explorer. This is happened sometimes, because PEN DRIVE try to assign the first free drive letter after your phisical drive letters, and if you have a mapped drive letter, the PEN DRIVE assign one of them.
