We just bought a used Kenmore portable dishwasher and are trying to hook it up. We have the faucet adaptor from the previous owner, but when we turn the water on it sprays everywhere. help?

NO you can’t. These are portable dishwashers that hook to the sink. In order for the quick connect to fit on the faucet, it must be a American Standard faucet. The pull out kind won’t fit on the faucet and no adapter is made.

Standard garden hose has same threads/adapter size.for trouble shooting run garden hose to washer try running cycle. Give it 20 minutes to finish previous cycle as it may not be trying to run what appears on settings. Water won't fill unless cycle that will allow such is chosen and active.

You'll need to go get an adapter that hooks on to your faucet. I just had the same problem. It was around $8.50

if your adapter that hooks up to the faucet has 4 little white plastic jaws inside it then it can be rebuilt. there is a kit that replaces those 4 jaws, the spring, the attaching clip and the internal seal.. usually runs around 10 buks or so. if i was at the store i could tell you the part number without needing your model number, but any good appliance parts store should be able to locate them for you..

there is a generic adaptor that fits on your faucet; take the name, model# and, hose to a hardware store and, they can show you the right adaptor for your machine

There is an adapter that you can buy at most home improvement or hardware stores. If you can't find it locally you could also try sears.com for the part.

You should be able to go to the Kenmore web sit and down load a manual. If there is a manual you can get it on line. Try google put the model number right in the search.
