Do you here anything at all happening when you hit the switch... if you not then most likely got a bad door switch or handle is broke at the area where it makes contact with the door micro switch...if you are hearing noise when activating the door switch you are good at the door... with the door opened hold down the actually freezer door switch and look in your ice maker while someone activates the ice dispenser switch. makes sure the augur motor is turning and if it is then make sure it is turning the ice bucket auger screw fairly simple process to go through... the operation is as follows the dispenser handle makes contact with a microswitch in the door and sends power to the auger motor telling it to turn.. once the auger motor starts to turn then it makes contact with the screw in the bucket and turns the screw in bucket forcing ice to front of dispenser and the dispenser has a flap that works both off of power sometimes or just by force of hand others... make sure it is opening and chute down and out door is opened. hope this helps good luck

Water dispensor stoppedworking

If the light and ice dispenser on the front panel works and If your fridge is 4 years old or older, the insulation in the freezer door has most likely deteriorated and the water in the tube feeding the water dispenser has probably frozen. Open the freezer door, put a blanket over the food to keep it from defrosting, and use a blow dryer to defrost the door. Blow the hot air on the flat panel inside the door (the backside of the water dispenser). Close the door about every 5 minutes to check to see if the water works. Once the water begins to flow, you have successfully defrosted the ice in the tube. Defrosting the door works for about 12 hours until it freezes again. To solve this problem, I placed a 10" weedeater line up thorugh the dispenser nozzle leaving about 1/8 of an inch sticking out. When the line freezes again, pull out the weedeater line, dispense water to free the ice, and then reinsert the weadeater line. I keep the line in all the time...it works great! If the light or ice dispenser do not work, the problem may be *********** board.

Ice Dispenser not dispensing ice

Remove the top freezer door hinge cover and disconnect the plug there . This will remove power to the dispensor . Remove the dispensor grill , and also the 2 screws at the bottom of the dispensor front . Lift the front up and out , and remove the plug on the front . You should now see the white switch bracket . On the left side , is the ice dispensor motor switch , when usually , one of the spears holding the switch breaks off , not allowing the ice dispensor to work . If this is the case , the part number is 2180226 . Only held on by 2 screws . When/if replaceing , be sure to put the plastic spacers in the correct position next to both switches , and be careful not to break one of the spears , holding the switches .

In door ice dispenser

Remove the top freezer door hinge cover , and disconnect the plug there . This will remove the power to the door . Inside the lower part of the dispensor cover , inside the dispensor area , between the grill and the actual dispensor bottom , use a small screwdriver in the crease , and push down and inward carefully , to release the 2 plastic clips , mounted on the bottom of the dispensor cover . 1 clip on each side at the bottom . Then lift the cover straight up ( not outward ) , to release the top plastic clips Then unplug the receptical to the dispensor cover . You should see 4 screws holding the dispensor caseing , which will need to be removed , for access to the controls .

Frost inside the ice dispenser chute and the ice cube dispenser seems "stuck" on crush mode instead of dispensing full cubes.

The stuck on crush mode , is caused by ice frosted in front of the ice bin , blocking the ice bin flap from opening , when calling for cube ice . Removing the ice bin and cleaning or defrosting completely , will solve this problem , AFTER , resolving the frost in shoot problem .
Remove the top freezer door hinge cover , and disconnect the plug there . This removes any power , going to the door . If no plug there , remove the bottom kick plate , by removing the screw on each side in the front , and disconnect the receptical from the wires comming from the bottom of the freezer door .
Remove the dispensor control board , by prying , or pulling , from the bottom of the board . Disconnect the 3 plugs to the board . You should now see the white dispensor cover , being held on by 4 screws . Remove these screws , and slide the cover out .
In the top right , inside the dispensor area , you will see a solenoid with a plunger , with the door flap arc , inserted into the plunger . Usually rust inhibits the movement of the plunger , keeping the door flap from closing completely .
Remove the 3 screws holding the plunger and solenoid ( part number WR62X10055 ) and replace . Cleaning will not help , due to rust will return .

Ice is forming in the door dispenser, damming up in the ice dispenser and blocking ice from being dispensed. Model is ZFSB23D SS. I have taken the parts off of the freezer door several times to remove the...

It sounds like the dispensor flap is not closing . Can you look down the ice shoot , and see daylight ? If so , dispensor and plunger need to be replaced . Pt # WR62x10055 . Or , if crushed ice is used quite often , this too will cause the shoot to jam . Unfortunantly , only cure for this , is to use less crushed ice . Since you've taken parts off the door before , I wont go into , how to get to and replace the solenoid and plunger .

GE Profile Artica - Water & ice dispensor not working.

This could be as simple as the door switch or as complex as the dispenser control board. I would try the door switch first. When the door is close it turns on the dispenser controls. If the contact is defective in the door/light switch then this happens. Unplug remove the door switch and mark wire locations. 1 Powers the lights and the other powers the dispenser. and one is the power itself. Sea Breeze

Ice dispensor

Make sure that the "flapper-door" closes about 3 seconds after the ice dispenser button is released. Mine had a habit of catching and staying OPEN. This allows warm air to enter the dispenser / freezer compartment causing your problem.

If it is stuck you have to take the dispenser apart to loosen / lubricate the flapper door cam to allow for free movement.

This is the worst ICE system I've ever seen for a variety of reasons.

Door ice dispensor will only dispense crushed ice

Pull out the ice drawer and close the door switch the crushed /cubed button put the ice drawer back in and switch the selector button again. You might have to repeat the process I had the problem this week and by jiggling everything around and running a good bit of ice thru it started working again. Good luck
