DV6000s are laptops and do not have internal power supplies. The power supply is actually on the AC adapter which plugs into your wall. However, if you need to replace something internally here is a link to a tear down video for the DV6000.
You have suffered a motherboard failure, just to be sure you need to check the voltage at the tip of your AC adapter and leave the system battery out of it, Just try to power it on with the adapter. If the same event happens, you will need to either service the motherboard or replace it. Ebay has several MOBO repair services for the HP products, specifically the DV6000 and the DV9000. These have been HP's problem child for a few years.
I agree. Need more info. Is there a driver loaded for your wi-fi? Is it on??? There is usually a switch for your wireless in the form of a pushbutton or slide switch somewhere on the unit. Make sure it is powered on first.
