I have a 1996 Ford Taurus. Got a new battery (First I ever had to replace) after putting it in (same spec battery as the factory one I replaced) the Car alarm makes the Lights flash for about 1-2 mins after I start it... then it runs fine... No siren, no horn beeping... just lights flashing... How can I disable the factory alarm... it isnt worth stealing anyways... its a winter rat for my vette.

To disable the alarm you must go to the specialised ford garage. They will hawe all the codes and equipment to fix that. You may want to stay away fromunqualified guys. They will charge you for the job, but the problem can come out again.

Radio fuse blew, speedometer quit working. After replacing fuse the speedometer is very sluggish (goes up fast down slow)

You may need a new Vehicle Speed Sensor. It is located on the Transmission on the Passenger side out-put shaft housing.

I need the cheapest way to replace a key chain lock unlock switch for a 95 ford taurus

Hard to figure out what you are talking about. If you mean the remote which attaches to your keychain and unlocks the doors, then you can buy a used one on ebay for about 10 bucks, put a new battery in it, about 4 bucks, take it to a dealer and have them teach your car to recognize it, about 20 bucks or free depending on
your persuasive abilities.

Whats easiest way to remove and replace engine in a 1996 ford taurus from the botom or out threw the top

depending on how your set-up makes all the difference. if you are doing it in the drive way out the top is the best. if you have a shop and a lift then top or bottom is almost the same. coming out the top is a little harder if you haven't do it before. so if you have a lift and equipment the bottom is best.

1996 Ford Taurus has been having problems starting up

Get a new battery - I did and it works OK.
Make sure it is the high output type as used in Jeeps etc. Check spec book for it in shop.

How to put a new one in

If you go to autozone.com, they have access to free repair manuals, you can print out step by step instructions from there. you will have to register with the sight and provide your vehicle information. it is free. this is for the 3.0 v-6 OHV (2-valve). you will need a couple of special tools, disconnect the battery neg (black) terminal remove the accessory drive belt remove the alternator remove and drain the coolant from the recovery reservoir put a drain pan under Pwr STR pump under the vehicle and disconnect the lines and let them drain remove the idler pulley remove the bracket mounting bolt under the belt tension mounting remove the 2 retaining nuts/ remove mounting studs/ remove Pwr Str Pump support w/ pump attached clamp pump in vise/remove pulley (special tool) remove three bolts on the support, remove Pwr Str pump.
replace as you have taken apart when installing you will need the second tool "pump pulley replacer" Good Luck!

1996 Ford Taurus GL with no spark I replaced ignition coil kit but it did not fix. Battery is fine and engine cranks over fine. What else can prevent spark if everything seems to have power?

Hello Johnrevival, Did you toss in new spark plugs too? I would suggest the best of champion which are designed specifically for ford engines.

Dead battery.

Here is a link to the factory owners manual, the info about the fuse is in the manual.
