I have dish network setup, and vizio 42" HDTV. The Dish network remote is already able to control the TV power and sound options, however, I want to control the TV Setup options too (specifically the "input" function). How?

There is no setup codes for Vizio TV with Dish Remote control.

Go into the Main Menu. From there go to System Setup (6) -> HDTV Setup (8). Make TV Type 1080i and Aspect Ratio 16x9 and select Done. Your picture should now be showing a HD picture.

Hello there! My name is Becki Barned, with DISH Network. To program your DISH remote to your TV, you can follow these steps:

1. Hold down the clear TV button until all lights light up at the top of the remote
2. Punch in a 3 digit code (provided below)
3. Press the # (POUND) button
4. Try powering the tv on/off, and the volume. If one or more of these functions do not work, start over from step 1 with a different code

I was unfortunately not able to find any codes for theVizio sound bar. Another option you can try is running a channel scan to findyour code that will work best to control your sound bar. Remote: All Remotes (except Basic)

• 1. With the desired equipment on, press and hold the correct Mode button until all mode button back lights illuminate, then release.
  2. Press and release the Power button. AUX Mode: Before pressing and releasing the Power button
     • Press 0 for a TV
     • Press 1 for a VCR/DVD
     • Press 2 for any other device.
     Then Press STAR (*)
  3. Press the Up button once a second while pointing the remote at the desired equipment. Note: If the code for the equipment comes up, the equipment will power off.
  4. Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.

Use the number buttons to enter the codes for your Vizio TV; here are some of the codes we currently have for it: 505, 598, 627, 888, and 802. Press the pound (#) button. To check that the code works try severaldifferent functions on the remote to make sure it will properly operate the TV.Remember that some codes may not be compatible with your equipment. If this isthe case, try the other codes listed for your Vizio TV until you findone that is compatible with it.

From the user manual,for 5 digit remotes (like most Direct TV units) use codes 11758 and 10178, then 01377, listed in order of preference. For 4 digit remotes use 1758, then 0178. For 3 digit remotes (Echostar or Dish Network) use code 627

This could be a mainboard problem. Sometimes one of the fuses may be bad and may freeze up causing the TV to not be able to power off.
