I have Original Schwinn which I purchased in early 90's.  The problem I have is that I changed the battery in the computer.  Now the "Work/Speed" indicator does not work (which shows level of work).  The time does work on the "Time/Total" indicator but the distance will not show.  I have original manual so set elevation and miles according to directions.  Does it not work because I changed battery (even though I followed directions in book) or because of something else? The wire that goes from computer to front tire seems OK?  But I'm not at all mechanical . .  do you have any suggestions? Help !

Send me your email address & I will send you a copy of the airdyne manual I scanned. It is a pdf copy which has description and instructions for your Airdyne computer. It has automatic (scans all features) and manual (stays on the 2 items you select in the display windows)and tells you how to change from manual to automatic and how to operate the computer. year is most likely 2007, where it's made: china

Schwinn is no longer an American company, they have changed hands multiple times since the Schwinn family sold it back in the early 1990's and they stopped making bikes in the U.S. well over 30 years ago. The only thing Schwinn about a Schwinn is the logo.

Battery cover & battery type for ergometer older unit
The battery cover is no longer made since this bike was last built in the late 1980's. I would recommend giving the man a timer/watch. I do have one of these little black round batter covers, and would sell for $25. However, all it does is create a timer for the rider. He already can use the analog computer to see his mileage, load, and can re-set the lower mileage to zero every workout. All the battery cover will allow is for him to set a timer for how many minutes he wants to workout for. Or he can pust the start button to time his workout. (my email is [email protected])

One of my dionic 90 batteries has died very shortly after not holding a charge for more than a few minutes.total charges less than 250 .any help ?
The Dionic 90 series batteries will last between 2-3.5 years or about
200-250 cycles (at 60% or better of original capacity)
At this point they can be recelled (install all new internal cells) cost is a little less than half of a new battery purchase.

Another common problem is loose or broken connections which will render a battery pack useless or dead, this can be easily repaired if caught early on before the cells self drain and go bad.

Schwinn S1000 illuminates both green & red light, but no power
I am having the same problem. By all indications it looks like the motor controller is the problem. Everything else works OK. I am pulling the controller tomorrow and replacing. If that doesn't work I am junking it.

Hi you can use the charger if the Specifications match up. Output volts, Amps, Charger size, The most important is it 24 volt or 36 volt charger. Check your scooter to see what volt it runs at. Must be equal to your scooter!
