Repair your Kenmore Top Load Washer suffering from these following issues: Will Not Advance Past Rinse ...
Check the filters in both ends of the hoses. If they are clogged, it will throw the timer off. If it figures on 2 minutes to fill but it actually takes 6 or 7 minutes, the timer won't be accurate.
I'm not saying you don't have a problem. But just to be clear. You do understand that the last minutes on these machines can vary. The machine senses certain conditions in clothing, water discharge, etc. So sometimes the "1 min left" indication can stretch into many minutes. In theory, at least, it's possible your machine just needs to be left alone until it finishes whatever it's doing. However, one would think that any issues not resolved in 10 - 20 min are an indication of a problem. So i guess that's my next question, did you wait long enough? Keep in mind i am not a kenmore expert.
The timer is only an estimate. pull the botttom cover of the front of the machine. There is a cleanout on the water pump, if its clogged it could be the cause of your timer taking so long
the same thing happened to our washer and a friend told us to take off panel below door and there's a opening that's covered with a circular plastic cover, open manually and remove all the junk that's accumulated from all washes, careful it may leak a great deal of water! Try that if anything else, unless you've already had it serviced!
I'm looking to try and solve yet another issue with the same washer...
i would try to clean the trap out at the bottom, there is a panel on the bottom take that off and clean out the trap, it looks like a turn dial, something like that has happend to me, it cant hurt to try
We had the same scenario, only our clothes were still very wet when it finally finished the cycle. To cure all three we cleaned the filter behind the front panel. It was badly plugged and it, and the water it was holding up, smelled foul. So far so good since.
