Xbox 360 - Thomson Router TG585 v8 Strict Nat limits who you can connect to. As you can imagine this creates a problem when trying to connect to friends. Kindly, devliver a simple step by step on how to change my strict Nat type to Open nat on my Xbox 360. Also IF it involves my router supply accurate info to navigate through the router.

Hi, I'm not familiar with Thomson routers, but you can watch this video, which details the process for a netgear router. The process will most likely be similar for your router.

You'll need to log into the linksys router and find the setting for UPNP. Please make sure this is enabled. That should allow your NAT setting to at least Moderate, if not Open.

Make sure you also open the ports on your router. IF you have all the appropriate ports open and still have strict NAT, it's more than likely your ISP and you should give them a call.

I have this router and have just enabled the NAT settings from Strict to Open:-

1. Log into router's IP address (192.168.1.1) and enter password. Select "Advanced Setup".

2. Click on Advanced on left hand menu and select UPnP

3. Check all three boxes in window and click on Apply

4. Close router configuration window and run XBox test again. Worked for me!

if you have a restricted NAT then you will not be able to connect to others that have a strict or moderate NAT this happens to me. to find out if this is your problem you need to test your connection and it will come up with it on the analysis. to fix this you need to change your router setting via your PC to switch the NAT to open then it should work

again give it then save it then reboot it the router then try it

First, try adding a wireless card to the Xbox, run the wireless off of the router OR if you have multiple connections (broadband, should be an "In" port, and several "Out" ports) Try connecting your PC and you Xbox through the "Out" ports, with the cable modem cord hooked into the "In" port...

try to change the channel on the wireless router and make suer the encryption is off or you know the key

First, why are you connecting to your laptop? Second, reset your modem and router. I doubt you need to open ports that are not normally open...but if you think you need to do more, access the router and open the ports manually.
