Set up hp pavilion a1240n. Have high speed wireless. My iPad connects but the pc won't. I restored back to original settings after trying everything else. Moved this computer into another room to keep from interfering with husbands computer. Would not work in his office either with his pc. His computer is the host.

There is no highspeed wifi. but yes 3/4g.

dont you mean you have wifi router
to connect you MUST match it, not husbands CPU.
the router broadcasts a wifi SSID, name
you click that and match what the router wants.
such is WPA2
and a pass phrase.
if you old A1240 is set to wep only or is so old it cant do WPA/2
then it fails.
I have no idea what WIFI card is your old PC.
and that matters big time.

what is best is login to the router and read what it wants
them may your pC do that.
I warn you the most old wifi cards are useless.
buy a WPA2 card (or usb wifi dongle new)

NO OS stated by you is this the virus magnet XP?

it will not interfere with HUSbands computer.
it will move to unused channels, auto, if set that way as it should.

SOURCE: Tried to install sp37394 on my HP amd processor

Hi,

You can try installing SP3 in safe mode, so that It doesn't conflict with any application software.
It should get installed successfully and problems should be fixed.
(Restart PC and keep tapping F8 to get advanced menu options and choose safe mode from there)
Let me know if you need any more help !

Thanks !

SOURCE: I Have just been given a hp dc7600. I have it all

USB 'dongle' for wireless reception (the gizzy that recieves wirelessly) No, your dc7600 hasn't any built in wireless. Microcenter.com or another retailer in your area will have what you need, including software and instructions for that device. Of course, like you said, you could always hard wire it, if you don't mind running cable??????

SOURCE: Hello, I just bought a HP Pavilion P6000 series.

Hi, I would contact the store and ask them what they set their password to. Without a restore or windows disk you won't be able to reset it to factory condition or reformat and reinstall windows. They should be able to give you the password and from there you can get in and change the password etc.
Thank you,
Lee

I have a Pavilion a1240n that will not come on and the green light on the back is staying on. What can I do to fix it?

Hi. If the green light is on i almost sure its a common case of broken motherboard, you can replace it it easy and cheap.
It can also be caused by a wrongly connected wire. Check them.

EPrinter Not Detecting iPhone or iPad to "Airprint" or "Direct Print"

I run an ePrinter wirelessly (WiFi) off a ASUS EA-N66 wireless repeater. This tip pertains to a HP 6525 printer in case you find this attempting to correct the same problem.
When first connected everything connected except the "Airprint" features or 'Direct Print" off my iPhone and iPad. I found the default printer settings were set to "Simultaneous IPv4 & IPv6". The iPhone/iPads communicate at IPv4. Theoretically they should function in the "Simultaneous IPv4 & IPv6" setting but they did not. Changing to the "IPv4" only setting corrected the issue and the printer functions with everything I have including a WiFi PC laptop, a Wifi Mac, iPhone and iPad.

I just purchased a used hp laptop at a pawn shop. it has no recovery discs. how do i restore it to the original settings?

use the system restore option or download a program called system rescue and run that or format HD. The system rescue program will erase everything and require re-installation of windows. System restore will bring back to original settings.

Unable to connnect wirelessly thru gprs phone.

You need to connect first one system with the phone. have the proper software of the phone installed on the system and your system should detect it as a modem. you may need to contact your network provider for assistance. Once you have establish a connection on the first sytem and it culd browse, that is the time that you need to create an ad hoc under create a new connection. once you have established an ad hoc, let your other system detect it wirelessly and try to connect to it.
By the way GPRS is similar to dial up so if you have 2 systems online it is just like splitting your 56k connection speed and it could give you no browse at times.

Hope this helps...
