Go to the BIOS settings and make sure the drives are recognized by the BIOS. Ensure they are set as either Master or Slave drives depending on where they are fitted.
Your OS should, once the BIOS picks them up, format as required.
My computer is a Dell Precision T3500, and the two drive are SATA.
Bios rev A07
On SATA 0 : HDD 250 Gb
SATA 1 : HDD 1 Tb
SATA 2 : CD/DVD WRITER
And I'd like to install on SATA 3 and 4 two SATA drives
How far did you get, does the BIOS recognise the drives?
I am trying to do the same and BIOS doesn't recognize the drive. What do I need to do?

Please take a look at the manual and it should be clearer:
http://www.user-manual.info/496443/personal-computer/dell/t3500/ User manual for Dell T3500 user manual servicing manual settings and...
You might need to install or re-install the chipset.
Heres the direct link to the chipset drivers on the dell site
Hope this helps

No the bios didn't recognize them. They are both plugged correctly anyway.
