I have bought my son an Acer Aspire One netbook and have set it up this morning. All is well with the one exception that the system cannot connect to the internet via my wireless router. The netbook does connect to the router (a Speedtouch 780) but the message comes up that "The DNS server isn't responding, your computer is trying to use a DNS server that is incorrect or doesn't exist". Can anyone help? DJ

You may have to set up the network on the Notebook manually...You can go to the network setup wizard and choose to get the settings for the network and put them on a usb drive. Goto control panel and select View network status and tasks from the main computer running on your network(or the one you used to setup your wireless). You should see a page with all the network devices that are running on the system. Under "view your active networks" you should see the router's name. Click on the router and the wireless connection status page should come up. Here you will want to find the wireless "properties " tab and click it. There in the connections tab there should be a link at the bottom saying" copy this network profile to a usb drive"...select this option and the computer will prompt you to insert a usb drive and copy net settings...then you take the usb out and put it into the Acer A1 and under network setup copy files from usb drive onto Acer A1..the network setup wizard will guide you through the steps..any q'S email at [email protected]
