Try another set of speakers to eleiminate the BOSE speakers as being the issue (even cheap ones will do). If the problem does not re-occur, the issue is with the speakers.
If all the speaker jacks are plugged in correctly, I would consider returning this set, as it looks like the issue is within the circuitry of the Woofer

Bose Companion 2 speakers and Windows 7

Scan your computer with RadarSync so that it will detect which driver updates are needed. It will grab the drivers and update them.

Hello, i have a dell Windows vista and my companion bose 5 wont work.. and ive tried it in another computer and it still wont work. what can be the problem?

Is there any system to which you can connect your BOSE *and* have it work?
If not, then check that the BOSE is getting electrical power into it.

Can't hear voice of singer on speakers, more of an echo sound

An old trick to remove vocals from a song was to rip the right channel, then the left, the combine them (since vocals are typically mixed in a third 'center' channel, though things like reverb or echo are applied to the right and/or left channels which sounds like what you are hearing).

I would play with the balance and mixer settings and see if you can get the vocals back. Also try other speakers or even headphones and see if you have the same problem.

Hope this helps!

Speakers only play cd's

Please look in your Start Menu, go to Control Panel, then into Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices. See near the left, and select Advanced Volume Control. Turn up the inputs for the other sounds that you want delivered out to those speakers. Later adjust the levels a little higher if at first the mix of the sounds is not quite loud enough from one or several of the sound sources. Also in Control Panel, Sounds, you can mute out or eliminate annoying unwanted system sounds such as sounds for minimize and maximize a computer window, and the click that occurs when the computer does Complete Navigation -which it does a lot. Go into Sounds and Audio Devices, and into the Sounds tab. Select the Windows Program event such as default beep and click pick NONE from the sound chooser scroll bar that is just below. Scroll up to NONE to eliminate that sound. Now your overall sound experience will be more pleasant, without unneeded sounds playing loudly, unexpectedly.

Bose Companion II Computer Speaker: The AC power adapter burnt

My puppy chewed through the cord for my a/c adapter, I just took the speakers into Circuit City, and they found me a workable replacement (the replacement isn't BOSE, but it works just fine).  Hope that helps!

Bose Companion 3 series II speakers aren't producing sound (imac)

from what I've read, the imac has a 3.5mm (.138) jack while the Bose jack is 1/8 (.125). very small difference in size (.013), but enough to cause problems.

Left speaker sometines has no sound? Please help

I bought a set of Bose companion 3 speakers and the darn RCA jacks are cheap and wiggling loose. The cost to send back and repair out of warranty is about $125!! BOSE companion speakers may sound good, but for my money, I'd rather go with more reliable computer speaker systems like Creative or Logitech. BOSE IS WAY TO OVER-RATED, but HEY....they suckered ME out of $275!!!
