How can I download Acer SanPrisa 640P Flatbed Scanner DRIVER?
1. Download English only Driver from Benq.com from their SUPPORT site.
2. Unzip File onto Desktop
3. Click on SETUP from Unzipped file & follow instructions
4. Click on Add Scanner, Select EPPSSCANNER from List, Click on Next
5. Don't worry if Scanner not shown. Close Window & Re-boot System.
6. Go to Control Panel, Click on System, Device Manager & see if Scanner is being shown in Imaging Device.
7. Still do NOT worry if not shown. Click on Scanners and Cameras in Control Panel. It will show ColorFlatbed Scanner. Double click on same. Click on Test.
8. Re-boot System.
9. Open Word, click on Insert, select Scanner. MiraScan will open. Click on Custom Insert, Scan Document.
Make sure that EPP is Selected in Advance BIOS Settings. In case you have Original CD that came with Scanner, Load those Win 98 Drivers too. I noticed that this actually PROMPTS the Scanner to respond. There is aslo an Instruction File in pdf format in same Benq site where you will Download the XP Driver for the Scanner. Just go thru the same. It worked for me. I have tried for 8 Hours today various modes & finally found this only worked & scanner recognised in Word Document. Scanner will never be FOUND if you try START - PROGRAMS - ACCESSORIES - Scanner & Camera Wizard.
