SOURCE: car still won't start

The taurus is equipped with what is called a PATS (passive anti theft) that wont let the car start until it recognizes the key in the ignition, some things to check, first when you put the key in and turn the car to run (not start) does the theft light blink fast in the dash or is there a red on light on the dash that starts blinking? if so it is a PATS problem, the only ones I know of that can program keys are dealers, if the car wont turn over it probably is not a fuel pressure issue, the most common thing would be the PATS keys either unprogrammed or somthing wrong with the module. hope this helps

SOURCE: disarming the alarm

Try this,I think this will work.Unplug the Remote anti-theft module in the right hand kick panel. It will have 2 connectors, one is 22 cavity connector and the other is 26 cavity connector.
Now best I can tell by looking at the Schematics you will have you take the wires from pin 11 PK/LG and pin 22 PK/YE in the 22 pin connector and pin 1 LG in the 26 pin connector and run these to a ground. Then leave the RAP module disconnected. This should keep your electric door locks working and disable the alarm.

SOURCE: 1995 ford escort, alarm keeps going off and car wont start

The alarm brain should not be the easy to locate if stock. Put everything as it was. The alarm brain, control, module or whatever any one wants to call it is most likely behind and under the radio possibly on the floor but in that area. That is if it is OEM if not then it should have been installed under the instrument cluster. I should be a small box probably held with zip-ties and it should have all the information, manufacturer, model and wire functions on the brain. If you think he found the right thing then have him look for the red wire that connects to it. It should have a 15amp fuse on the cable. If its taken out this will disable the alarm. What ever he found should say Security, Alarm or something like that. Not door control or anything other.

2001 mitsubishi eclispse gs wont start how do you bypass the security system

  • 1 Turn the ignition key counter clockwise in the driver's side door to unlock the caricon1.png. This deactivates the alarm long enough for you to gain access to the vehicle. Then, place the key in the ignition and turn the key until it clicks once. This starts the car's battery, but doesn't ignite the engine. The LED light on the dashboard should stop blinking, indicating the alarm is temporarily disabled.
  • 2 Locateicon1.png the box for the alarm under the dashboard on the driver's side of the car. Then, look for the override button on the box. Typically, the small button is either red or black. With the ignition key in the "on" position, press the override button and hold it in until the alarm chirps once. This disables the alarm until you manually reactivate it.
  • 3 To reactivate the alarm, turn the key to the "on" position and press the override button once. The alarm chirps twice, indicating the alarm is active.

  • Hope this helps!

How to program a remote control viper 5900 for a chevy Tahoe

Should be a switch for overriding the alarm under the drivers side dash. Two wires going to it (grey black) with a push button on the end if it. Have the driver door open and turn the ignition to on not running,,,, push the valet button and let go and then push and hold valet button........ Hit lock on the transmitter one time while still holding the valet button down. You should get a chirp for entering program and then when you lock on the remote it will make another chirp. But the chirp will sound awkward. Let go of valet and and turn truck off. And test remote. If that's doesn't work you may need to follow all the same steps but instead if press once and press and hold you will need to push 8 times and hold on the 9th and hit lock on the remote. I'm pretty sure the it's sequence is for alarm security and 8 steps is for remote start only models. Food for though if my mind is working backwards. Best off luck. All else fails I'm sure a shop will do for about 20$

How do I reset alarm on Toyota corola 2002

You'll need to set off the alarm for a few seconds.
then, look under the dash area for a button or, a toggle
switch. When you locate it, turn on the ignition
key, press and hold in the button (little
spring loaded micro button, red or black possibly)
until the alarm chirps 1 time. This should over ride
the system, and only the keyless entry part,
if installed, would still be operating.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
    should also go on solid.

At this point. the alarm would have reset.
If this had a starter kill relay installed,
it would now be opened, and the engine would
turn over when tried. This is override/reset.

How do I disarm anti theft device on a 2001 ford taurus

SEE THE STEPS WITH CAREFULLY AND COMMON SENSE:God bless you
Press the unlock button on your vehicle's key fob to deactivate the alarm. If you've misplaced your remote for the car, use the PATS programmed key to unlock the driver's side door. Then, put the key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. The vehicle's battery should be on, but the engine shouldn't be running.

  • 2 Locate the override button on the alarm box, beneath the driver's side of the dashboard. Press the button and hold it in until the alarm beeps one time. The LED light for the alarm should stop blinking, indicating the anti-theft system is disabled.

  • 3 To reset the vehicle's alarm, put the PATS programmed key in the ignition and turn the key to the "on" position. Press the override button. When the alarm resets, it chirps two times and the LED light begins blinking.

Your alarm got put into valet mode some how
.It's easy to reverse out of it back to normal. First look for a small black push button under the dash somewhere. It's called a valet button. Here are the steps.
    1. open door
    2.turn key on then off
3.then within 10 seconds hit that valet button once(your alarm light should be off. Tell you arm it again. Then it will blink)
    Hope this helps

Have a code alarm for car remote dont work and cant disable it. wont start how do i disconect alarm so car will start

Provided that your system is not programmed for coded override, the standard emergency override is as follows:

    1. Enter the vehicle (the security system will trigger.)
    2. Locate but do not press the valet/override switch yet (it should be a small black button installed under the dash within reach of the driver)
    3. Turn the ignition key to the ON position.
    4. Press and release the emergency override button (The security system will turn off).
Note: If the automatic arming feature is enabled on your system. The security system will re-arm the next time the ignition key is turn off and the vehicle's doors are closed.

If the coded override feature was enabled by the installing dealer, you will need to follow these procedure:

    1. Enter the vehicle (the security system will trigger).
    2. Locate but do not press the valet/override switch yet (it should be a small black button installed under the dash within reach of the driver)
    3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
    4. Within 5 seconds press the emergency override button the number of times corresponding to the first digit of your personal code (Default digit is 1).
    5. Within 5 seconds turn the ignition key OFF, then ON.
    6. Within 5 seconds press the emergency override button the number of times corresponding to the second digit of your personal code (Default digit is 1).
    7. Within 5 seconds turn the ignition key OFF, then ON.
    8. If entered correctly the security system will turn off.
    9. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.

If the coded override feature is enabled and the code is lost, the system will need to be reprogrammed by an authorized dealer.

Alarm is armed, and I dont have a remote.I need to manually dissarm the alarm or my car will not start

Open the door, the alarm will sound , go under your dash, normally installation techs will install a kill switch or alarm override button either in the drivers side kick panel to the left of were your left foot rests or inside the fuse box panel, under the steering column or by the center column somewhere but most likely the drivers kick is the spot. So open the door and find the kill switch or override button and put the key in the ignition turn it to the on position without cranking and press or toggle the switch after you turn the key, this should override the alarm and let you start the vehicle, otherwise you have to remove the alarm main fuse from the brain and rewire your starter kill to factory so that you can start your vehicle normally again until an alarm tech corrects the alarm wiring.

Good luck my friend, hope it is helpful.

My Mustang Cobra has a Viper alarm system that won't set

Under the dash, Your installer that worked on your Cobra should have put an valet button under the dash, It is a small round Black button, Ok with the driver door open,,put your key in the ignition and go to the on position, Locate the black button before you do this, once the ignition is on hold the black button down for 3 seconds hit it once more and then turn the ignition off, the light should start flashing again and the chirp for arm and disarm with work again, What you have going on is called Valet mode which is designed to put the alarm side of the system to sleep which can happen from accidentally bumping it.

I want to turn off factory installed alarm in 1999 Ford Taurus SHO but where is the switch located?

Hi there. As far as the valet/overide button, it's a hidden
device-switch, a little spring loaded micro button,
red or black possibly and is probably down under
the dash area, near your knee/leg. In some
remote start/alarm combos, the antenna on the window
glass will also have an override/valet button.
Older sytems will have a flip type toggle switch.

When you locate the button or switch,
turn on the ignition key, press and hold
in the button until the alarm chirps 1 time
(for toggle types, key on, flip switch in the
opposite direction, then key off). This should over ride the system. You would get a single chirp to confirm from the siren.
The LED (light emiting diode) light in the dash
should also go on solid. This is valet/overide/reset.
This should correct any issues like starter disable,
or anti-hijack. Your keyless entry, if installed,
will still be operable. The have it inspected for the
falsing issues you are experience at a local shop.
You would repeat the same steps to toggle back into user mode.
