After self cleanin our GE jkp90 oven we get an F9 code when we cook above approx 450 degrees. Once it gets to temperature the F9 comes on the display, locked flashes, and the oven shuts off. Sometimes the door latch will lock and sometimes it won't. This fault only happens at very high temps.

Sounds like you have a bad interface or control unit ... being a g.e oem authorized service tech for the last 18 years we see this alot... the self cleans should be removed on these things... it literally gets the units to hot and starts melting and destroys the components on these things... the control board will actually come with a new door latch mechanism as well and that normally is the culprit.... the thermostat is connected to the erc ( erc being the control board) and when the unit says it is high temp the erc faults you need a new control board assembly.... god luck

What temperature should the TCO in my fan oven be. The maximum temperature of my fan oven is 250 degrees Fahrenheit

The temperature for the TCO in your fan oven should be set to the desired cooking temperature for your recipe. This will depend on the type of food you are cooking and the recipe you are following.

For example, if you are baking bread, a typical temperature would be between 350-450 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are roasting a chicken, a common temperature is 375-400 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are cooking a casserole, a good starting point is 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

It's important to follow the recipe or guidelines for the specific type of food you are cooking, as the correct temperature and cooking time will vary based on the ingredients and method

Self clean will not switch to oven temperature

About 6 times a week we see 'Self Clean' cycles that break ovens. Try removing the mains plug or turning off the breaker for an hour. If that doesn't fix it, you will need a service call on you mystery make appliance. It could be the thermostat burnt out or the control board frazzled.

Self Clean oven temperature is about 880 degrees Fahrenheit.
Self-Clean Ovens
The oven is cleaned by heat, at temperatures above normal cooking temperatures. During the cleaning cycle the oven is heated to about 880 degrees Fahrenheit (471° C.). At this temperature, food soils inside the oven decompose, leaving behind a small amount of ash.

My ge monogram double wall oven had an f9 error code for both upper and lower ovens when set to 500 and then cook at 450. Is this normal. How do I fix this

An F9 error code on a General Electric (GE) oven indicates that the oven's electronic control system has detected a problem with the automatic door lock. The automatic door lock mechanism prevents the oven door from being opened when the oven is set for "Clean" mode. The malfunction may be a jammed door lock mechanism, a pinched or broken wire, a faulty lock switch or a fault in the control board itself

Oven shows an F2 flashing after self cleaning along with a beeping sound.

Hello there and thank you for choosing fixya
The F-2 error code Indicates that oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either a cooking or clean mode of operation.
· Control senses oven temperature above 650 degrees F with the door circuit in the unlock mode.
· Control senses oven temperature above 935 degrees F with the door in the locked mode.
· Stalled cooling fan or airflow problem. · Look for welded relay contacts. (Heating elements on in off mode).
· Look for open thermal switch in lock motor circuit. Switch is normally closed and will open if area overheats due to fan not operating. Look for cause - fan thermal switch not closing, fan stalled, etc.
· Look for high resistance in the oven temperature sensor circuit due to high contact resistance (poor terminal crimp, deformed terminals, loose connection) or intermittent solder joint on control or intermittent oven temperature sensor.
· Look for electrical noise interference in the oven temperature sensor circuit (Ham radio, cordless phone, etc.).

Whenever I bake at a temperature above 370 degrees in my model jkp90s, it gets a f9 error code and attempts to lock the oven door. Is this a common problem with this model GE oven? Is there something...

Hi jrsinister,

Error F9 has something to do with the lock switch. There two things that you can check to solv the problem. First, check wiring to door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrong). The other ne is to check for stuck lock switch.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

GE self cleaning radiant oven - model JB578GP

I went out to my circuit breakers and turned the circuit off, let the oven cool, and powered it back up after about 2 hours. Fine now.

F3 code and beeping

F3 - F4 Open oven temperature sensor (circuit) (over 2700 ohms) or, shorted oven temperature sensor. Could be a result of:
· contamination on terminals
· pinched wire in oven temperature sensor circuit
· cold solder joint on control. · Disconnect power to range and remove oven temperature sensor connector from control.
· Measure oven temperature sensor resistance at oven temperature sensor connector (take care not to damage terminals in block) - Should read 1100 ohms at room temperature (approx 72 degrees F).
· Measure each oven temperature sensor lead from connector block to ground. If shorted, look for pinched or cut wire in oven temperature sensor circuit.
· Check connector terminals - Look for deformed or corrosion on terminals. Repair or replace.
If all above is ok replace control.

Double 27" oven Model No.911.48489 show F9,later beeping

The F9 error message usually means that the oven temperature is above 600 degrees F. Check that the fan is operating. Make sure that it is not blocked. Make sure the vent areas are not blocked. There could also be a welded relay contact or high resistance in the oven sensor leads or connections.
