Not sure if I understand your question. If the screen is a bunch of colors with some jagged lines it may have been cracked. I had mine for less than a week and dropped a clock on it. Not a happy camper. It can still be used for transport of video. I have an old sony monitor in my garage office. I load the AV700 from my computer and plug it into the monitor to watch videos in the garage.

View sonic va 1918wm-2 lcd monitor on when booting then off switch off and on display comes and going

While booting the PC changes resolution several times. It could be that by the monitor finally locks onto the signal, the PC changes it again so it tries to lock on again. Question is, does the video stay on when the PC finally stabilizes onto the desktop screen?

Horizontal line om my samsung led laptop

Walter,

If this horizontal line appears no matter what you are doing, simply on the desktop or in an application, or even while you are booting up your laptop, then you have a monitor problem.

First try to right-click on the desktop in a clear space, find the option for changing the display options, and see whether a different speed (Hz) will change this and eliminate the line. If you're using, say 70 Hz, go to something else, like 60 Hz.

However, if this truly is happening even during boot up, you then have to try to get into the BIOS setup, which usually is shown right after turning on the system, for example, Setup: F2, or F10, etc. Try going in there and looking for the same thing - the speed of the monitor's refresh rate and changing it there.

Then restart and see whether the line is gone or not.

But if it persists, and your laptop is still in warranty, contact the Samsung Support people, and see about getting a replacement, or having them repair it. Hopefully, it is still in warranty, because a new screen for a laptop is an expensive proposition.

Good luck.

The color is not showing correctly there apears to be to much red and green and not enough blue

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from www.TvRepairKits.com

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some pics of convergence problems.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

My LG Viewty's screen has gone black with colourful lines and wont work x

It is either the firmware gone berserk or the screen. To find out which one, reinstall the firmware and power on. If the problem still persists, then it is the display IC inside that needs replacement. A trip to the LG Service Center is called for in any case.
