I have a 42 inch philips plasma HDTV. It's about 4 years old. After it's on for about an hour a vertical bar about 9 inches high and 1 inch wide appears in the upper right corner. What do I need to do to fix this problem? I've rebooted the TV and I've tried to move the picture frame right or left to see if it was off center. Neither has produced results.
Does the vertical lines appear like solid vertical bard infront of the pictire??
the lines are most likely the panel which isn't cheap..
the lines are just a voltage adj. on the y sistain. if you feel confident enough you could try this yourself(though expensive equipment is usually required i do without). what you would have to do is take off the back panel if you have a stand put it back on that. easier to work on. then plug it. BE CAREFUL not to touch anything inside!!! from the back you will see a board on the left side on that board will be a small board attached vertically it will have a gray screw attached(very small). with the tv on you adj. the screw until the lines goes away(a little does alot).

sometime it's a solid bar and sometime it's a bunch of vertical bars of different colors, but the overall size is the same.
