You may just need to reset your modem and router, turn off both, and cycle the modem on, then the router. once that is done, if you're using windows, hit the windows key and the r key at the same time. type cmd into the dialog box and hit enter. when the black box appears type "ipconfig /release"
then type "ipconfig /renew" no quotes. then see if you are able to access the web. if not type 'ipconfig" and it will give you information about your ip address, come back and tell us what it says you have for an ip

IE can't connect unless webroot is running. If the webroot firewall program is NOT running, IE can't connect to the internet!

Hi,
Can you confirm which software you are using, is this the home-user anti-virus/anti-spyware software or the corporate Desktop Web Proxy (DWP) web-filtering service?
Many Thanks, D Tribe

Web pages are mimimized when I first connect to them.

One common complaint is that IE will not open a spawned window maximised. This is not a feature in IE. You can TRAIN IE to open a larger size and you can set IE to start full size. But to tell IE to launch all IE occurances to full screen is not supported.

To change IE to start full size, right click on the IE icon/shortcut and change the entry "Run" to "Maximized."

Having a bad day?
Ok, go to IE tools->internet options
Clear your Cache, cookies and History
Close IE
Restart IE

All should be well

If not - the server has reached capacity and no more users can log on at this time and you need to wait.

Internet Explorer can not display this webpage

This is not Internet Explorer's fault, this is a bad network connection. I presume you have wireless because I experience the same issues occasionally when my wireless connection drops out. The only solution to this is either use an ethernet cable from the router to the computer or move the computer/router closer to each other or get a further reaching router. Hope that helps!

IE unable to open web pages

The version of IE does not matter.

Click "START"
Click "RUN"
Enter 'cmd' and press ENTER.
Enter 'ping www.yahoo.com' and press ENTER.
Do you get output like:

Reply from 209.131.36.158: bytes=32 time=37ms TTL=56

Reply from 209.131.36.158: bytes=32 time=61ms TTL=56
Ping statistics for 209.131.36.158:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

If so, then your Internet connection is working fine.
If not, then you have no Internet connection.
