When it goes black then check with flashlight 2 in from screen and see if you see a picture, if so then inverter board is going out, you can google your model and inverter and find the replacement.

Hi,
Maybe the cords have the problem.
You might have to pull and reconnect the cords and do the same basic turning on/off of the Tv.
Or you might also check the positioning of your Tv, example : are there stereos or speakers near or beside the Tv? it causes magnetic reaction and causes the screen to not work properly.

Picture blacks, tv needs to be turned to bring picture back. wii games do not go black

This is caused by your QAM decoder on hi def Sharp sets. You need to rescan for channels, turn off your TV then turn it back on to set to save the channels. The problem lies in the Tuner board and some Hi-Def signals can change frequency slightly due to improperly shielded cables etc. Verify that all of your cables, especially the Cable TV wire are firmly seated on your set. An improperly grounded cable television wire can wreak all kinds of havoc on reception.
