My mouse cursor will not move on the screen when I try to use my new wireless mouse. The light comes on on the bottom of the mouse and the USB is plugged into the computer. The USB blinks red when plugged in like it is working, but no matter what I do, the cursor will not move on the screen. Help!!

Hello, hope this isn't a silly suggestion, but have you pressed the 'connect' buttons on the mouse and receiver so that the 2 devices can synchronize?

How do I get the mouse to mouse the mouse cursor

the battery in the mouse makes the red light come on, not the operating system.
Look in Device manager, find the mouse, uninstall the drivers, scan for new devices, re-install the drivers.
Otherwise look for new drivers on manufacturers site.

How do I connect a microsoft wireless moblie mouse 3000 to my laptop?

Press the button on the back of the mouse to free the battery cover on top.

Remove the battery cover and put the supplied AA battery into the mouse.

Replace the battery cover.

Insert the wireless USB dongle into a USB port on the laptop or desktop computer.

Move the mouse and watch your computer screen.

Confirm that the mouse is connected by making the cursor move.

Hope this helps

Logitech wireless optical mouse won't move computer cursor

Sometimes on wireless mice the contacts get warped or bent, so when you move it or set it down the batteries are not making full contact on both ends and the mouse loses power.

You can try adjusting the contacts or using a conductive material to make the contact (like a staple or paperclip), but you're probably better off spending the $10 or $20 to get a new mouse.

I have a new HP Pavilion laptop and a new Belkin wireless mouse. I have plugged in the driver and the red light is on. I have also turned on the mouse. The mouse will not move the cursor. What is wrong?...

Did you press the reset button on the bottom or inside the mouse. That resets the mouse to the usb wireless you plugged in. And, make sure the batteries are good and orientated correctly in the mouse.

Cursor runs all over the screen w/o moving hp wireless mouse

Your mouse could be defective, but let's try a few things first. Try to remove any wireless devices close to it (i.e. wireless router)or try to plug it in a new USB port. Last thing try to use a very dark mousepad. The laser respond to reflection so any white on a mousepad combined with some sun light could result in a free for all mouse pointer.

Receiver light is steady green. mouse won't light up. cursor won't move.

Why don't you try at the moment of placing a new battery to see if the small button that protrudes, where the receiver is located at the bottom of the mouse is pressed down. Without the receiver in place that **** on must be out for as long as the receiver is in the USB port.
Good luck!!!

The cursor on my laser wireless mouse won't move

You need to sync the mouse with the USB receiver. They'll be a similar button on the receiver. Push both at the same time.

Try replacing the batteries or if it has rechargeable batteries, try removing and replacing them. Also clean the red lens on the bottom of the mouse with a cotton swab. Good luck!
