On my son's Tomica Mega Station Hypercity Set, the yellow piece that stops the cars from crossing the railway track is stuck in the up position and does not release the cars to cross the track. It does not function in the automatic or the manual mode.

I'm having the same problem. We took it back to Toy's R Us, got a new set and new batteries and it still won't run. I'm "mega" frustrated because this is all my son wanted for Christmas, and we live an hour and a half away from Toy's R Us. I called Tomy and they said that I am the first person to call about this, and that there is no "master on switch" anywhere, and they just don't know. But what are the chances of TWO different sets from TWO different Toy's R Us's and TWO new sets of batteries and this damn thing still won't work?! UGHHHHHHHHH

I have a New Bright 384 Christmas train set. I purchased other tracks (384) and rail cars. How many tracks and cars can I safely add to the original train?

FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT I'm not a professional train builder .. but i am an old kid a heart and i've had electric trains at Christmas all my life. as far as track is concerned it shouldn't make any difference how much track you have... the electricity remains constant in the tracks and is only expended at the point where the train contacts it .. a poor connected track can cause a slow down or stoppage so if it happens again check individual track pieces for a poor connection, dirt, corrosion, loose connections where the tracks slide together .. it's probably a loose track connector that happens a LOT you can run a jump wire across a loose track connection (if you know how) .. don't use pliers to crimp them that only makes it worse .. i've made that mistake. you can get into trouble by adding too many additional powered items like another train or another electric station beyond what it came with.. when you do that you can stress the transformer.. in which case buy another transformer for all your stations and only use your original stuff with the old transformer... but yeah have fun with it string as much track as you want.. Merry Christmas

Mega Loop Mayhem launcher switches do not opearate the flaps

Hi. Got this for my son's birthday and one of the flaps didn't respond well to the lever so was intermittent in opening and never opened very much so either the car kept going round the loop or kept bashing the flap on the way out. The other flap worked fine. After a bit of poking around with it I think I've fixed the problem.
Firstly I removed the loop tracks so I could access it better (which was actually the tricky part of the operation as they lock into place a bit too well - small flat bladed screwdriver under the front of the track to lift it off the retaining nobble worked best for me). I then noted that there seemed to be some form of spring mechanism holding the flap in the down position so I simply lifted the flap right up - pretty much through 180 degrees so it kind of stretched and loosened the spring a bit. This then allowed the lever to lift the flap properly. All sorted and works great now.
Don't know if that's the same problem you've had but if you've not given up on it and got rid of the set then it might be worth a go. Hope this helps.

Locomotive won't come on

This train set is very particular and getting it to work each Christmas is a family tradition in frustration. First you must make sure that all the pieces of track are connected properly and that the track is perfectly symmetrical and flat. We double-check the battery positions every year and find one in wrong. There are + and - signs, but they're hard to see; use a flashlight. There is a black toggle switch below and behind the red stack that toggles forward (to make the train go forward) and backwards (reverse); straight out perpendicular to the train is the "stop" position. Also, you have to start at a stop/switch station. One other note: behind the red stack, there is a smaller black stack. If you turn this, you can make smoke come out of the stack. I think I remember someone suggesting a drop of cooking oil. Hope this helps!!! Hope you get it set up for Christmas!!!

Joining the tomica world set with the expansion set, need a desig

Steven,

The Fixya website has absolutely nothing to do with Tomy. My recommendation is to direct your question to Tomy directly here:
