I need to install a fargo pro L on to a computer with xp professional.. and its not working. can somebody help me.

Can Fargo Pro-L printer be install on a window 7 computer?

I am afraid that you need specific software to print your cards.
Here is the link to the manufacturer's web site. You will find demo versions you can try. If you are satisfied it can be used with Windows 7 you may want to buy the full version ($ 249)

Windows 7 fargo printer drivers

There are no Windows 7 printer drivers available for the Pro-L printer. You may try using the original Windows XP driver if you know how to setup a virtual XP environment in Windows 7 Pro. This requires you to install the printer and the software that uses it inside the virtual XP.

I have bought a Fargo Pro LD Thermal printer, and have a windows xp desktop and a windows vista laptop. My problem is the driver that came with the printer is for windows 98. How do i go with instaliing...

The support options seem to be limited. However, I found an Win2K and XP driver here: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/PRINTER/OTHERS/Fargo-Pro-L-Printer-Driver-202.shtml . Click on the Download button on the left and then click on the download from External Mirror link.

For Vista, you may find the Compatibility option works. Right click on the file you downloaded (after unzipping if it ends in .zip, find an .exe file in this case) and choose Properties. Then click on the Compatibility tab. Set that up to run the program as XP. Then right click on the file again and choose Run as Administrator.

If you bought the computer from a computer-store, and they installed Windows, then they are guilty of violating their licensing-agreement with Microsoft.

If a "friend" of yours installed Windows onto your computer, then it is they who are guilty of "software piracy".

I need fargo pro L printer driver for windows 7

According to the Fargo Website:

The drivers only go as high as windows xp for now. Hopefully since Windows 7 is coming out soon that they will have a driver available for it shortly.

First of all Hello

Is it win XP pro of office pro :) anyways i think you meant office professional :)

if its xp pro
Do you have a Cd or an image containing xp pro mounted? If so that is why you are getting this problem. Make sure remove any CD's from the drive.

if its office pro and you have multiple accounts on your computer do this :)
It might be that you are using office as a user of your PC and NOT as administrator in which case it means you have to go back to your administrator profile and make a FULL INSTALL (all features installed on my computer) of OFFICE professional and the problem goes.

Unmountable boot volume error

if you know any body who has a copy of xp then you can use their cd, but use your product key number that is on a sticker on the underside of your laptop, but if you had xp home dont use xp pro cd as it wont work when you input the product key. This is quite legal as you purchase the XP licence number and not the cdrom so see if you can lend one from somebody.
