Heat & dry liight reamins on, no other function buttons work
Turn the circuit breaker off for 5 minutes or more, turn it back on and press the start button, this should reset the device. But there is a great posibility the the switch board for your touch screen controls have gone bad (water/vapos may have accidentally pentrated it, replacing this one may cost you alot but hopefully its just the door switches

After you unplugged it, did you try to plug it in again to see if it would reset?
If you did and it didn't reset, I'm afraid to say that it might have damaged your touch pad control panel and/or the control board, so better have it check by a service tech...

after i turned of circuit breaker and turned back on all lights went out and dishwasher still wont turn on
I wasn't sure what you meant by "hard" reset so I turned off the circuit breaker. All the lights went out but the dishwasher still won't start. Any other suggestions?
The dishwasher doesn't plug in - it is hard wired
